On October 30th, 1982 -RUSH peaks at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with their single: New World Man. This hit is featured on the ninth studio album from RUSH, released in 1982 titled: Signals.

On this day in 1985MTV premieres the music video “Sun City” by Artists United Against Apartheid. Artists United Against Apartheid was a protest group of world-famous musicians, founded by activist and guitarist Steven Van Zandt, aka Little Steven, along with record producer Arthur Baker. The mission was to protest apartheid in South Africa.

On October 30th, 1988Bon Jovi kicked off their Jersey Syndicate Tour in support of their fourth studio album: New Jersey. The tour lasted 16 months. Bon Jovi then took a two-year hiatus after the end of this tour. Shown above is a tour program for the Jersey Syndicate Tour.

On October 30th, 1939, Grace Victoria Wing, aka Grace Slick was born in Chicago, Illinois. Happy Birthday, Grace! Grace Slick is world-famous as the former vocalist for Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, StarshipThe Great Society and as a solo artist. During her post music years, Grace Slick has found fame again as an artist in the visual/fine arts.

On this day in KISSTORY – October 29, 1976 – KISS appeared on The Paul Lynde Halloween Special. Paul Lynde was a very famous American comedian and actor, best known for his television specials and regular appearance on the hit televised game show, Hollywood Squares, where he sat as a regular in the center square. Sadly, Paul Lynde passed away in January of 1982, at the young age of 55. Rest in peace, Paul Lynde.

Meat Loaf "Bat Out Of Hell" large album pic!!

On October 29th, 1977Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf entered the Billboard 200 album chart. This iconic studio album of Rock and Hard Rock went on to spend 82 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart, reaching its peak at #14. Bat Out Of Hell went on to sell 14 million copies in the United States alone. The song composer for this album was the legendary Jim Steinman.

On October 29th, 1955, Kevin DuBrow was born. Kevin DuBrow was the charismatic lead singer and co-songwriter for Quiet Riot. Sadly, Kevin DuBrow passed away in November of 2007, at the young age of 52. As a co-founding member of Quiet Riot, Kevin DuBrow helped launch and relaunch this band into Heavy Metal superstardom.

On October 27th, 1970 – The legendary Black Sabbath began their first tour of North America at Glassboro State College in Glassboro, New Jersey. During this historic tour, Black Sabbath would share the stage with the likes of Alice Cooper, The James Gang, Three Dog Night, Jethro Tull, The Small Faces, Badfinger, and Mungo Jerry.

This prestigious honor ensured that 2112 would be preserved for future generations. 2112 was released back in 1976 and is the fourth studio album from RUSH.

Born on October 25th, 1948 was Glenn Tipton. Happy Birthday, Glenn! Hell and yeah! Glenn Tipton is the super legendary guitarist and longtime member of the super-duper legendary: Judas Priest. A true Heavy Metal pioneer and influence is Glenn Tipton!

Glenn Tipton has also recorded two successful solo albums. On March 7, 2006, Rhino Records released a new version of his 1997 Atlantic Records album Baptizm Of Fire along with the Tipton, Enwistle and Powell album Edge Of The World. This album includes previously unreleased recordings with the late drummer Cozy Powell and bassist John Entwistle.
