HighVolMusic is pleased to announce the signing of the Canadian Heavy Metal band Snake Eyes Seven. Snake Eyes Seven is currently recording their latest effort Medicine Man with producer Cam McLeod (White Wolf) at the Wolfsden (pic below) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Medicine Man marks the bands 3rd release with label president Bill Chavis. Both Snake Eyes Seven (2007) and 13 Crows (2010) were released with Bill. “I am very happy to have Cole and company back on-board. Cole and I developed a great friendship from day one. He is a great person and loyal friend to the end, not to mention a prolific riff master and writer. We have worked together for so long it just seems logical for me to be involved with the next Snake Eyes Seven chapter. Cole called and said will you do this, I said when do we start? I discovered Cole and his band years ago but actually turned him down the first few times. It was only after Cole’s non-stop perseverance that I caved in. The first release was OK but 13 Crows was outstanding. I don’t think it caught on but it was a great release. Medicine Man proves to be the best Snake Eyes Seven release yet and judging by the demo material, it will be a game changer.

Snake Eyes Seven now features Cole ‘The Madman’ Stevens – guitar, Cam McLeod – guitar, Danny Deane – vocals, Mike Cillis – bass, and Erik Young – drums.

Snake Eyes Seven recently launched their Facebook page with a new website to follow in the coming days. More details on Medicine Man including soundbytes and other information will be revealed soon.

Machine Head - promo band pic - Bloodstone & Diamonds - 2014 - #77MH

Bloodstone & Diamonds was once again produced by Robb Flynn himself and Juan Urteaga (TESTAMENT, VILE), and like the last 7 out of 8 albums, was masterfully mixed by Colin Richardson (CARCASS, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLIPKNOT, BEHEMOTH). Additional tracking, editing, and mixing was done with heavy metal legend Andy Sneap (EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, MEGADETH) who also launched his career co-mixing Machine Head’s 2nd album “The More Things Change” and Steve Lagudi.

“I cannot even begin to tell you how proud we are of this album,” comments frontman Robb Flynn. “It’s been a heck of a ride, but man, this album is a milestone for us. You’re going to love it Head Cases.”

“Without getting too philosophical on ya, Bloodstone & Diamonds represent two of the hardest materials on earth, it is also a lyric from the opening track of the album ‘Now We Die’. In many cultures the bloodstone has been used as an amulet to protect against evil and is the symbol of justice. Diamonds are the hardest natural material on earth (which is how we feel about our music) and it also represents the diamond logo I drew 22 years ago (in my wife’s apartment on Dover St. in Oakland) that has become the symbol for the band.”

Primordial - Where Greater Men Have Fallen - promo cover pic

Dublin’s finest Metal exports, PRIMORDIAL, will release their long-anticipated new studio album, Where Greater Men Have Fallen, later this Fall via Metal Blade Records.

Commended by Pitchfork for their meticulously composed “folk and black metal-inflected classic metal that spirals and extends and somehow, keeps getting bigger,” and crowned the, “most vital heavy metal band on the planet,” by Last Rites, Where Greater Men Have Fallen serves as the followup to PRIMORDIAL‘s critically adored, 2011-released Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand full-length and boasts some of the band’s deepest, most meticulously composed compositions to date. The eight-track, fifty-eight minute epic was tracked at Grouse Lodge in Dublin with Jaime Gomez (Cathedral, Angelwitch, Grave Miasma).

Singer A.A. Nemtheanga elaborates: “Some time at the end of 2013 we sat and began to plot a course for album number eight. We moved camp to a new rehearsal room and the ideas began to take shape. We felt it was time to try a new studio and engineer, so we went to Grouse Lodge deep in the middle of Ireland and employed Gomez to come over and work on the new album.” The band’s idea was, of course, to keep the PRIMORDIAL trademarks intact while incorporating a broader, heavier more organic sound. “We feel revitalized, the hunger never left and we are ready for another chapter to be written in our history!

Sample the dark, victorious cadence of title track “Where Greater Men Have Fallen,” with the official new lyric video now playing at THIS LOCATION.

Where Greater Men Have Fallen Track Listing:

  1. Where Greater Men Have Fallen
  2. Babel’s Tower
  3. Come The Flood
  4. The Seed Of Tyrants
  5. Ghosts Of The Charnel House
  6. The Alchemist’s Head
  7. Born To Night
  8. Wield Lightning To Split The Sun

Where Greater Men Have Fallen will be released in North America on November 25th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. Point your browser to http://www.metalblade.com/primordial for a host of preorder options.

The record will come available as a standard jewel case CD and on vinyl in various color variants. Where Greater Men Have Fallen will also be released as a limited European deluxe edition wood box set which includes a CD+DVD digibook, an exclusive 7″, a leather wristband, a poster and a certificate of authenticity.

PRIMORDIAL:

A.A. Nemtheanga – Vocals

Ciaran MacUiliam – Guitar

Michael O’Floinn – Guitar

Paul MacAmlaigh – Bass

Simon O’Laoghaire – Drums

With the upcoming release of LAIKA’s new album ‘Somnia’ on Sept 30th via Filth Regime Records, the Canadian melodic death metallers have teamed up with Decibel Magazine for the exclusive album stream at the following link:

http://www.decibelmagazine.com/featured/exclusive-album-stream-introducing-laikas-somnia/

“Long time coming to get to this point. Here it is. ‘Somnia’ in full. We are trying to find the words to express how ecstatic we are that it’s finally come. We have worked very hard in this album and we hope you enjoy it in full as much as we enjoyed creating it. We are proud to be teaming up with Decibel to bring you this full album stream.” comments vocalist Jordan Dorge.

Driven by a thirst for evolution, LAIKA spent two years constructing and writing its upcoming full-length album full with melodic hooks, ominous keys and lyrics that are bound to get stuck in listeners’ heads to an almost maddening degree.  Founded in 2009 and named after the Soviet dog who became one of the first animals to travel to space, the Winnipeg, MB six-piece return after a small hiatus since unleashing their self release in 2010 that saw the band hit the road hard and share the stage with the likes of All Shall Perish, Kataklysm, Necronomicon, Unleash the Archers and many more.  So brace yourself, as this fall, LAIKA will hit the scene hard, just like they did all those years ago.

Album Pre-Order - https://laikawpg.bandcamp.com/

In additional news, the band will be hosting their local CD release party in Winnipeg, MB on October 11th at The Windsor Hotel (187 Garry Street) with local support from Tyrants Demise, Mortalis, Withdrawal, and Occvlt Hand. Admission is $10 with the first 25 people in the door receive a free copy of ‘Somnia’.

“This is a momentous occasion for us all because not only are we celebrating the release of Somnia we are also celebrating 5 years as a band, we will be playing Somnia in full and a cover or two. We are absolutely thrilled to have such a stellar lineup for the evening.  Hope to see you all out for the grand celebration!” comments vocalist Jordan Dorge.

Inferion - This Will Decay - promo cover pic

Formed in 1995, INFERION have refined their intense sound and present their finest work to date. This epic 14-track, 55-minute majestic masterpiece is a vicious onslaught of Blackened Death Metal that crushes bone and penetrates flesh with the precision of a newly sharpened blade. Superior production quality tears through the many deep layers of this album to reveal complex lead guitar work, a wide array of vocal approaches and the relentless hyper blast of Carlos Delgado. This Will Decay solidifies INFERION’s rightful place as one of 2014’s purveyors of the most vile underground music available.
