As reported on The Winery Dogs Facebook Page:

From MP: I need to correct a huge misconception about The Winery Dogs that I keep seeing floating around the internet… this band was ONLY EVER myself, Richie & Billy!

John Sykes was NEVER a part of this band! Myself & Billy were previously working w John on an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PROJECT (consisting of all strictly John’s material).

When that didn’t pan out, Billy & I began working FROM SCRATCH with Richie (with all 3 of us collaborating together) on an entirely new band…and THAT is when The Winery Dogs were born. It is important that people understand this!!

OK, carry on….thanks! : )

  1. Early reports had me believing that too, so nice to get Mikes clarification. When you listen to them though, it could only ever be the sum of Richie, billy and Mike, love what I’ve heard so far, and will be getting this album. I met Billy many years ago at a bass clinic in Yorkshire in the UK , and he was entertaining as a presenter, and a gentleman! \m/

    • Yes Kev, clarifications in Rock ‘N Roll (and traveling for that matter, LOL!) are key! I’m glad you dig The Winery Dogs too… I’ll be adding this album to my ‘need list’ 🙂

Very nice that you met Billy Sheehan at that bass clinic, Kev! I had the pleasure to interview him on the phone once and I’ll underscore you using ‘gentleman’ in your description, that’s for certain! \m/\m/
