Los Angeles cinematic‑metal outfit Levinia returns with the third installment of their 2026 four‑single cycle, releasing their heaviest and most visceral track yet: “Bite.” The single and accompanying music video arrive as the follow‑up to the band’s recent releases “Silver Tongues” and “The Thorn,” continuing the group’s evolution into a darker, sharper, and more emotionally charged era.

“Bite,” like all four upcoming singles, is produced by Brandon Friesen (Halestorm, Nickelback, The Hu, Papa Roach), whose cinematic approach and modern metal sensibilities have helped elevate Levinia’s sound into its most refined form to date.

Drawing inspiration from Dracula, specifically the character of Mina Murray/Harker, “Bite” reimagines the classic Gothic arc of vulnerability transformed into strength. Vocalist Kourt Henson channels Mina’s evolution from prey to force of will, weaving a narrative of emotional reclamation, toxic entanglement, and the quiet power of survival.

“‘Bite’ is for anyone who’s ever felt drained by something or someone that tried to control them. It’s about finding the strength to fight back and become something stronger than what tried to break you,” says Henson.

Musically, “Bite” is Levinia at their most aggressive, relentless riffs, cinematic tension, and a vocal performance that swings between haunting restraint and explosive catharsis. Fans of the band’s heavier material, especially tracks like “Push and Pull,” will immediately gravitate toward its intensity.

The single’s artwork features a single drop of blood, a minimalist but potent symbol tied directly to the song’s themes. More than a nod to vampiric imagery, the blood represents the shedding of a former self, a transformation born from pain, loss, and the reclaiming of personal power.

“Bite” continues Levinia’s 2026 collaboration with producer Brandon Friesen, who worked closely with guitarist Alon Mei‑Tal and vocalist Kourt Henson during pre‑production to refine the band’s most ambitious material yet. The partnership has resulted in a sound that is heavier, more cinematic, and more emotionally deliberate than anything in the band’s catalog.

This single marks the third chapter in a four‑part release cycle that showcases the full spectrum of Levinia’s identity, from groove‑driven modern metal to atmospheric balladry to the ferocity embodied in “Bite.”

East Nashville hard rock force KALAMITY KILLS returns with “Los Días Son Malos,” a Spanish-language take on their song “These Days Are Evil.” The track captures a sense of cultural unrest and psychological tension that feels unmistakably current, blending aggressive riffs, driving rhythms, and a massive, chant-ready chorus built for rock fans across languages and borders.

“Los Días Son Malos” was born from a renewed connection between frontman Jamie Rowe and the Latin American audience that has followed him since his years with Guardian, whose Spanish-language releases helped build a lasting international fanbase. After revisiting those classic choruses on Instagram and seeing a powerful response from fans, the idea of recording a KALAMITY KILLS song in Spanish began to take shape.

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a large Latin American fanbase, due to the Spanish releases from my GUARDIAN years,” says Rowe. “Recently I started randomly singing those old choruses on Instagram, and hundreds of thousands of people showed up to watch. That response stuck with me. Around the same time, Jamey Perrenot’s wife Christie told him we should cut a Kalamity Kills song in Spanish, and the idea just clicked.”

“We found Rosa Rodriguez in Nashville, a Honduran native and a phenomenal singer in her own right. She came in and worked with me phonetically to get the vocal track right, and she also sang the female vocal lines so the song would stay true to the English recording of ‘These Days Are Evil.’ I’m really excited to put this out and hopefully connect with everyone who loves rock en español.”

REEKMIND: Crushing Death-Doom Collective Announces New EP Glints From The Crematorium

Australian death-doom collective REEKMIND is set to release its new EP Glints From The Crematorium on CD and 12” vinyl format on July 24th, 2026 through Night Terrors Records, further expanding the band’s bleak and emotionally devastating sonic universe.

Building upon the foundations established with their debut full-length, the group now pushes its sound into more exploratory territory, embracing new twists, dynamic shifts and experimental textures without sacrificing any of its crushing heaviness.

Rooted in massive riffs, oppressive atmospheres and an overwhelming sense of emotional collapse, REEKMIND continues to channel a form of catharsis where despair and weight coexist in perfect balance. The new material preserves the raw and organic intensity that defined the band’s earlier work, while broadening its expressive scope through more fluid structures and a deeper focus on tension, contrast and immersive pacing.

The EP also features guest vocals by Daniel Butler (Vastum, Decrepisy, Acephalix) on “Flesh Draped on a Pitiful Frame”, adding an additional layer of hostility and anguish to the release. “The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II – ‘Incursion‘” is the new single release from progressive extreme metal project ANNIHILUS MUNDI. The track offers a further taste of the band’s forthcoming sophomore album, The Dead Sea Scrolls, scheduled for independent release on November 6, 2026.  

Loosely following the story of the 1995 anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, “The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II – ‘Incursion'” opens with a flashback to the Katsuragi expedition. On the album, “The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. I” and “Mvt. II” combine to form an epic 13-minute opus. While the former delves into project mastermind Daniel Saillant’s personal experiences, the latter focuses on fictional examples from Evangelion.

“The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II – ‘Incursion'” describes a society who has constructed their goals based on face-value interpretations of the words of ancient civilizations, leading to their mutual destruction.

Lyrically, Composer and lyricist Daniel Saillant explains, “the opening verses about the Katsuragi expedition detail how the titular Dead Sea Scrolls led to the discovery of Adam, the First Angel in Antarctica. Future verses describe how the Angels’ mission to reunite with Adam is motivated by clandestine knowledge given to them by their God, which exists entirely in the shadows. Both the humans and Angels alike operate under the directive of ancient religious knowledge, and in both cases, countless lives are lost and endless destruction is wrought across the planet.”

ANNIHILUS MUNDI traverse an amalgamation of styles across “The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II – ‘Incursion'”. The track opens with clean tones of acoustic guitar melodies, vocal harmonies, and an enveloping somber mood. Obliterating harsh tones strike through the atmosphere with thunderous impact, and the song features a guitar solo by Andrew Matarazzo (PERENNIAL QUEST). Orchestral strings bring an otherworldly power alongside aggressive harsh vocals and ferocious riffs. The dramatic interplay of light and shade pervades throughout the instrumental arrangements of “The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II – ‘Incursion'”.

The Dead Sea Scrolls explores the personal lived experiences of composer and lyricist Daniel Saillant. In a fusion of genres and artforms, ANNIHILUS MUNDI presents the central concepts through the lens of Hideaki Anno’s notorious 1995 anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its subsequent 1997 film The End of Evangelion.

ETERNAL MOURN: Italian Death-Doom Newcomers to Release Winds of Sorrow EP

Italian death-doom newcomers ETERNAL MOURN have signed with Terror From Hell Records for the release of their debut EP, Winds of Sorrow, scheduled for July 20th, 2026.

Born from the collaboration between drummer Debla and guitarist/vocalist Gabriel (Black Oath, The Rite, Extirpation), and later completed by guitarist Eros (Extirpation, Funest) and bassist/vocalist Santo (Araphel, Demonomancy), ETERNAL MOURN emerged from a shared desire to channel feelings of melancholy, frustration, inner decay and loss into music steeped in darkness and emotion.

Drawing heavily from the great death-doom tradition of the 1990s, the band pays homage to genre-defining acts such as Paradise Lost, Katatonia and Cemetary while avoiding mere nostalgia. Instead, ETERNAL MOURN reinterpret those influences with remarkable confidence and authenticity, crafting songs that feel complete, memorable and emotionally resonant, without sacrificing the raw and rugged edge that lies at the heart of classic doom/death metal.

Recorded at Spvn Studio in Guanzate, Italy, Winds of Sorrow consists of three carefully crafted tracks that capture the essence of the band’s vision: mournful melodies, somber atmospheres and a pervasive sense of desolation intertwined with powerful riffs and heartfelt performances. The result is a debut that balances melancholy and heaviness with natural ease, establishing ETERNAL MOURN as a promising new name within the contemporary death-doom scene.

SAVAGE: Dutch Death Metal Crew Announce New EP Septic Tomb

Hailing from Groningen, The Netherlands, SAVAGE continue their march through the death metal underground with the announcement of their upcoming EP Septic Tomb, set for release on July 6th, 2026.

Born from the ashes of Dutch death metal outfit Entrapment, SAVAGE have quickly carved out a distinct identity rooted in the genre’s formative years. Drawing inspiration from legendary acts such as Nihilist, Master and Repulsion, the band delivers death metal that remains faithful to the old-school spirit while standing out through strong songwriting, memorable riffs and carefully constructed arrangements. Their songs strike immediately, combining directness and authenticity with a level of craftsmanship that rewards repeated listens.

Following the release of their well-received three-song demo in 2023 through Dawnbreed Records, SAVAGE entered Germany’s Soundlodge Studios in May 2025 to record four new tracks under the guidance of renowned producer Jörg Uken. The resulting material captures the band’s raw and uncompromising approach while showcasing their ability to write memorable death metal without sacrificing intensity or atmosphere.

The vinyl edition of Septic Tomb to be released by MilkCow Records, will include both the four new songs and the band’s 2023 demo, offering a complete snapshot of SAVAGE‘s work to date. The CD version will be released simultaneously through Dawnbreed Records and Necrolatry Records.

The band is already looking beyond this release. At the end of December 2026, SAVAGE will return to Soundlodge Studios to record five additional tracks for a future release, further cementing their commitment to carrying the torch of classic death metal.

To further mark this new chapter, SAVAGE will make their live debut at the legendary Kill-Town Death Fest in Copenhagen this September, bringing their raw and ugly sound to one of the most respected stages in the international death metal underground.

On Cranial Devastation, DEAD VOID returns not with reinvention, but refinement of their singular, suffocating vision. Where the band’s debut Volatile Forms introduces a band steeped in cavernous atmosphere and psychological unease, their newest outing showcases something more deliberate, violent and far less forgiving.

Across five sprawling tracks, DEAD VOID invoke a form of doom-laden death metal that shuns clarity in favor of chaos. The album collapses inward under its own weight, lurching between glacial crawl and frantic rupture, with unearthly vocals screaming out like transmissions from beneath layers of sediment. ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD has unleashed an epic and cinematic reimagining of ALICE COOPER‘s iconic track “Poison“. This release sees the symphonic progressive metal ensemble join forces with Los Angeles based symphonic/melodic metal band, ANTHEA. 

The alluring gothic mood of “Poison” is enhanced through ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD’s immersive musical arrangement. Intensity arises from the ferocious heaviness of the metal instrumentation while orchestral and synth layers sculpt an enveloping atmosphere. Haunting harmonies and technical prowess on display from ANTHEA’s vocalists Diego Valadez, Juna Pina, Astrid Anaya, and Mel Del Real elevate the track with a touch of the ethereal. 

ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD honor the character and impact of the original song while infusing the arrangement their own distinctive compositional qualities. Produced by ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD, “Poison” was recorded at Counter Communications with engineering, mixing and mastering by Chris Wirsig. The track’s cover art was created by JD McGibney.

About ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD:

Based out of Los Angeles, CA, ANGELSON THE BATTLEFIELD began as a side project for guitarist JD McGibney (ex-VOODOO KUNGFU) before augmenting to a full line-up in 2021. Alongside McGibney, the instrumental symphonic progressive metal band is now comprised of Jason Klein on bass (ex-BUTCHER BABIES), Eddie Trager on drums (ex-NEKROGOBLIKON) and Chris Wirsig on keyboards (award winning TV and film composer).

The ethos of the band is to empower listeners through music, to assist individuals who are fighting on their own battlefields and to help them find courage. ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD strive to improve awareness of and discourse around mental illness through the power of heavy metal.

The band made their live debut at the 2022 “This Is My Brave” mental health fundraiser, where the band helped to raise around $30,000 to donate to local Los Angeles mental health charities.

2024 saw ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD open for Taiwanese folk metal artist NiNi at her debut USA headline show in November of 2024. In the following year, the quartet embarked on their debut headline West Coast tour across October/November of 2025.

In 2025, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD’s 2024 single release “Modern Prometheus” was long listed in the 2025 GRAMMY Awards in three categories: Best Metal Performance, Best Instrumental Composition and Best Arrangement – Instrumental or A Capella. Additionally, “Modern Prometheus” was nominated in the Hollywood Independent Music Awards in 2025.

FULCI to Co-headline OFFAL FEST 2026

Italian death metal heavyweights replace Lividity

Brutal death metallers Gorge also join July line-up

Manchester, UK – 5 June 2026: Offal Fest has confirmed that Italian horror-infused death metal titans Fulci have been added to the line-up as Sunday co-headliners. They replace Lividity, who have had to cancel their appearance at the 2026 festival due to unavoidable personal reasons. To maintain a packed final day, organisers have also added slamming death metal group Gorge to the Sunday roster.

While Lividity expressed deep regret over missing the July gathering, they intend to make it up to their British fanbase with a future UK visit. Their replacement, Fulci, arrives fresh from a highly successful tour alongside Sanguisugabogg earlier this year, and the trio will close out Sunday night in their signature horrific fashion. Joining them on the upgraded stage is Gorge, whose groove-heavy brutal death metal style earned significant praise during a Manchester appearance this past April alongside Disgracing. 

Rancid Offal Promotions, the organisers behind Offal Fest and Goremageddon, have also announced a schedule and lineup alteration for Heat 2 of the Battle of the Slams tournament, which now takes place thisSunday, 7 June 2026, at Junior Jackson’s in Manchester with free entry.

The adjustment to the Battle of the Slams schedule became necessary following an external venue double booking. Moving Heat 2 back by one day resulted in a revised performance roster for the showcase. This Sunday, the bands Asbestosis, Cerebral Autophagy, World War Three, and Gutspill will perform to secure a spot at Offal Fest. This round is decided completely by audience votes on the night, with only two acts progressing to the final. The organisers have urged the local music community to attend the free gig and support the underground scene.

Dedicated to the most extreme facets of gore, grind, slam, and brutal death metal, Offal Fest has solidified its status as a vital fixture in the international metal calendar following its sold-out 2025 edition. The 2026 festival, scheduled for 24-26 July at its new Manchester home, Boundary, is headlined by two major UK-exclusive performances from genre pioneers Devourment and Ohio powerhouse Regurgitation. The latter making their debut appearance on UK soil.

Now, Fulci join Regurgitation as Sunday co-headliner. The comprehensive lineup features a global roster including New York legends Immortal Suffering, Japan’s Butcher ABC, and Korea’s Fecundation, alongside a formidable domestic contingent headlined by the “wobble-box” specialists Crepitation and the official reunion of Infected Disarray. After a decade of conquest in the industrial landscape, ESOTERIK returns to ignite a new era with their highly combustible single, “Cycles.” Marking a significant sonic evolution, the track introduces a “gasoline-drenched” brand of grunge metal that perfectly bridges the gap between industrial precision and nu-metal aggression.

While “Cycles” features massive guitars and the raw vocal delivery expected of the genre, it remains grounded in the carefully crafted hooks that have become the band’s signature. Formed in 2013 and led by Allison Eckfeldt and Brady Bledsoe, ESOTERIK has been a consistent powerhouse in the alternative scene.
