With the blistering cacophony of 2024’s Loved By None, Hated By All still ringing in our ears, Danish death/metallic hardcore outfit strike back with a brand new single, “Die With Me.”
The track begins in full grind mode with the chant “die with me” driving the chaos before shifting into a fast hardcore section. The song keeps pushing forward before collapsing into breakdowns that grow slower and heavier toward the end, finishing in a massive closing breakdown that feels like the final moments of a live set. Lyrically, “Die With Me” is about meeting death head-on and refusing to go quietly.

Michigan’s MY OWN WILL has announced the release of their newest EP, Misery. The EP promises to clutch throats and incite pits with four overly-aggressive tracks of metal-fueled hardcore.
The band has picked the EP’s title track for the lead single. Vocalist Dave Keoppen comments on the song, “‘Misery’ was the first demo we recorded for the EP and was initially called ‘Highway Homicide.’ It is a fast, blistering track that we really feel sets the tone for the EP. Sonically, it is unlike anything we feel we have done before. I really tried to push my vocal ability on this one and the dudes wrote a heavy, fast, interesting ass beater. It’s fast at times, slow at times, and maintain a constant auditory onslaught throughout.”
Misery is due out on June 4th, through Bleeding Art Collective in partnership with Blood Blast Distribution. Pre-save the EP at: myownwill.bfan.link/misery-ep.

Canada’s SCORCHING TOMB has officially signed to Time To Kill Records for the release of their long-awaited debut album.
After sharpening their blades through a series of well-received EPs and a crushing split, the band is now ready to make a bold statement on a larger scale. Their sound is a feral fusion of raw death metal and metallic hardcore, with zero tolerance for the plastic, overproduced gloss often associated with modern deathcore.
SCORCHING TOMB keeps both feet firmly planted in the filth and fury of old-school death metal and the uncompromising aggression of hardcore at its most hostile. The result is a punishing assault that’s sure to resonate with fans of Skinless, Fulci, Xibalba and Terminal Nation. More details on the album will be revealed soon.
SCORCHING TOMB emerged from the sewers of Montreal in 2018 with one clear mission: to fuse old-school death metal with modern hardcore in a city ruled by technical death metal. It didn’t take long for the band to make a name for themselves in the underground. Their blend of blistering old-school riffs, crushing mosh parts, and explosive live energy quickly caught the attention of the hardcore scene in particular.
Originally formed by tattoo artist Vincent P.L. (vocals) and guitarist Philippe Leblanc, SCORCHING TOMB has since solidified its most formidable lineup yet with the addition of Miguel Lepage (ex–Blind Witness, ex–Obey the Brave) on bass and Émile Savard (Profane Order, ex–Malebranche) on drums. With this new blood, the band has evolved from a local standout into a fully weaponized force.
Now, the time has come to follow in the footsteps of Cryptopsy, Quo Vadis, and Despised Icon, proving once again that Montreal remains a relentless, unyielding powerhouse in the world of death metal.
Time To Kill Records is thrilled to announce the release of Overtime, the brand-new EP from Italian hardcore outfit RESPECT FOR ZERO, set to drop on June 30th, 2025.
Following the announcement of their signing, Overtime marks a bold return for the band; an explosive statement of intent that sharpens their identity with renewed precision. The EP delivers crushing grooves and relentless intensity, staying true to the band’s hardcore foundation while embracing a tighter, more dynamic production. RESPECT FOR ZERO prove once again that aggression and authenticity can evolve without compromise.
“‘Born Again’ explores the experience of existential stagnation, a loss of strength and emotion but ultimately urges a reaction, a personal awakening in the face of despair. The lyrics capture a moment of profound inner struggle and emotional paralysis, where hope seems to vanish. Yet, they deliver a powerful message of perseverance, framing every obstacle as an opportunity for renewal. The song underscores the importance of taking action and refusing to let life slip away, reminding us that every hardship holds the potential for a comeback. At its heart, ‘Born Again’ is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of starting anew”.
Tracklist:
1. Reaching Death 2. Mirrors 3. Sagnol 4. Born Again
RESPECT FOR ZERO is a hardcore band from Sant’Elpidio a Mare, on Italy’s east coast, active since 2013. Their name doesn’t stand for “respect for nothing” but rather for respect for those who are treated like zero compared to corrupt politicians and the authorities who exploit us.
The band channels the rage of a generation raised in the suburbs, without comfort, and under the repression of the global underground culture, constantly stifled by the church and a bigoted mindset. The band stands firmly against fascism.

RESPECT FOR ZERO has shared the stage with bands such as Terror, Ratos de Porão, Expire, No Turning Back, WarCry, Bent Life, Trash Talk, Comeback Kid, H2O, Impact, Bull Brigade, Meet the Storm, Strength Approach, Slander, Straight Opposition, Face Your Enemy, Mud, Chains, and many more!

Toronto-based hardcore/crossover thrash quartet, THE SLIME, are back with a brutal new double single offering, “Russian Roulette” and “Orange”, set to give listeners a raw taste of what’s to come from their upcoming album, Crab-Walk To Oblivion, releasing January 24th, 2025.
These two tracks showcase the band’s signature style: ferocious riffs, socially conscious lyrics, and an unrelenting intensity that has made THE SLIME a staple in the underground punk and metal scenes.
“Russian Roulette” is a harrowing dive into the psychological toll of war. Featuring a riff that predates the current lineup, this track has become a staple in the band’s live shows thanks to its hardcore breakdowns and thrashing momentum. Lyrically, the song offers a stark anti-war message, reflecting on the terror and trauma of killing from the impersonal height of an airplane. In a chilling nod to Motörhead’s Bomber, THE SLIME deliver a poignant line, “This ain’t no Bomber fantasy,” to drive home the brutal reality of modern warfare and the haunting specter of PTSD.
On the flip side, “Orange” is a short, fast ripper that keeps both the band and their listeners on edge. But behind its lightning pace lies a weighty, deeply serious message. The song confronts Canada’s shameful history of colonial violence, focusing specifically on the atrocities of the residential school system. With pointed lyrics, THE SLIME call out the systemic racism that allowed such atrocities to happen, challenging the white colonial collaborators who sought to erase Indigenous communities. It’s a blistering critique of a history that can no longer be swept under the rug.
With these two powerful singles, THE SLIME continues their tradition of pairing hard-hitting music with thought-provoking themes, offering their audience a sonic experience that is as cathartic as it is socially relevant.
Atlanta’s own hardcore heavy hitters, YOSEMITE IN BLACK, is excited to unveil their new single “Robber Baron” from their upcoming album The Pursuit Of, scheduled for release on August 16th via Terminus Hate City. Alongside the single, the band presents an intense an unhinged visualizer which can be viewed HERE. Pre-orders for The Pursuit Of are available HERE.
YOSEMITE IN BLACK consists of Luke Marlowe on vocals, Dylan Beard on guitar, Cody Jenkins on bass, and Michael Ferrara on drums. Renowned in the hardcore scene, the band blends hardcore and metallic hardcore styles, drawing comparisons to influential acts like KNOCKED LOOSE, LAMB OF GOD, TURNSTILE, and TRAPPED UNDER ICE.
Their latest single, “Robber Baron,” delivers a powerful mix of aggressive riffs, pounding drums, and commanding vocals, embodying the band’s distinctive sound that has gained a global following. This track illustrates the band’s talent for merging raw power with complex melodies, offering an intense yet cathartic musical journey.
The band shares: “A ‘Robber Baron’ is an old English term for someone who does business with malicious intent. The song is a callout to all the white collar music industry people who try to take money away from artists, who already make very little as it is.”
The Pursuit Of – Tracklist: Cerberus Warmer Weather Just This Once Robber Baron The Pursuit Of Cold Shoulder Kitsch Fade Out
“Robber Baron” was self-recorded, mixed, and mastered, showcasing YOSEMITE IN BLACK’s commitment to their DIY roots and artistic integrity. The lyrics explore themes of societal disenchantment and personal adversity, providing a poignant reflection on today’s societal challenges.
L-R: Ramon Rellum (Drums/Backing Vocals), Kyle Mazlik (Guitar), Justin Mazlik (Vocals), Dan Nelson (Bass), Jeremy Harlan (Guitar)
Metallic hardcore heavy hitters Sunmancer are poised to shake the foundations of the metalcore scene with their latest video single “Chasm Darkly”. Known for their relentless energy and unyielding heaviness, Sunmacer is also hitting the road with August Burns Red and Fuming Mouth in May (dates listed below) where listeners can catch the track live. The band comments on the song:
“Compared to our other songs, Chasm Darkly came together relatively quickly. This song was written in a span of a few hours, and only very minor tweaks were made after the demo was recorded. Everyone in the band really enjoys the vibe of the song, and it’s the first one that Ramon, our drummer, was able to sing on. The lyrical content is purposely left open to interpretation so that the listener can glean their own meaning. We are extremely proud of this song, and feel that it represents the musical direction we are moving in as a band.”
Lyrically, “Chasm Darkly” can be open to interpretation, but vocalist Justin Mazlik wrote it with his own struggles and anxiety in mind. Musically, Sunmancer wanted this track to have a wide range of feelings – going from heavy riffing with blast beats to epic choruses and calm bridges. They don’t revisit many of the riffs in the song, as to take the listener on more of a “journey” as opposed to just a verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure.
Formed by brothers Kyle and Justin Mazlik, Sunmancer rose from the ashes of Broadcast The Nightmare, carving out their own path in the metal landscape. Teaming up with Atlanta-based guitarist Jeremy Harlan of Faith In Ruin, the band’s lineup solidified with the addition of Dan Nelson on bass and Ramon Rellum on drums.
Chasm Darkly” is intended to be more than just a song, it is an experience – from the intense blast beats to the serene interludes, every element of the track is carefully crafted to evoke emotion and resonate with the audience. It is recommended for fans of Killswitch Engage, Counterparts, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

July 25, 2023 – Ghost Spirit, the L.A. hardcore band who surprised fans in early June with the release of “Kill The Strife,” the group’s first new music in four years, have now released an additional single via Blue Swan/Rise Records: “The Tradition That Remains” (watch the video here).
“’The Tradition That Remains’ is a heartfelt anthem celebrating the unbeatable spirit and promising future of the hardcore scene,” explains vocalist Alex Bigman of the Will Putney (Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose) mixed and Phil Odom (Code Orange, Portrayal of Guilt) engineered track. “Amid the Covid lockdowns, just like everyone else, we were deeply concerned about the fate of our beloved community’s shows. It seemed as though the very existence of the scene was at stake. Determined to rally the troops and reignite the passion, we set out to create a song that would unite us all. Out of the pandemic we overcame the challenges, and now in 2023 the scene feels more alive than ever. This music video, lovingly captured on Super 8mm, Super VHS, and digital formats, beautifully portrays the essence of this journey during the unforgettable run of our recent sold-out shows. We proudly declare that the tradition endures, binding us together in our shared love for hardcore, and illuminating a bright path towards the future.”

Ghost Spirit released Hourglass in 2019, with the 8-song album landing on Rolling Stone’s staff’s personal best of lists, and being praised by outlets for capturing the band’s DIY spirit. Idioteq said the collection is “sonically and thematically immense,” while Sputnik Music noted the band’s ability to juxtapose “tenderness and honesty” with “frantic guitar work… and the pained screams of Alex Bigman.”
The band is currently writing a new album with additional details to be revealed soon.
Ghost Spirit is Alex Bigman (vocals), Taylor Jewell (drums), Niko Zaglaras (guitar) and Evan Henkel (bass).
As the band approaches its 20th anniversary of their first release, As the Last Light Drains (Victory Records, 2003), FREYA have returned to their roots with a pulverizing new full-length album, entitled Fight As One, which will be released on September 22nd on Upstate Records.
Today the band has shared “Sense Of Doom” where they are joined by HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta. “We are all living through increasingly tumultuous and uncertain times,”says vocalist Karl Buechner about the track. “‘Sense of Doom’ is about weathering those storms by staying unified with friends and family. The message is about never surrendering to negativity and holding true to core values.”
FREYA are joined by three legendary hardcore front-men on their newest album; Freddie Cricien (MADBALL) delivers a crushing performance on the title track, Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) seethes on “Sense of Doom” and Scott Vogel (TERROR) drops the hammer on “Thousand Yard Stare”.

I went with my buddy Troy to see Cro-Mags and Ringworm, down in Covington Kentucky, at Madison Live!, on March 17, 2023. Both of these bands have been on my bucket list for many years. Suffice to say I had an amazing time seeing and hearing these bands, up close!
The line-up for Cro-Mags has changed over the years; however, the legendary band founder Harley Flanagan has once again proved to his fans he is still at his very best in performing live. With a mixed crowd of both younger and older fans, the Hardcore stage diving and insane pit of yesteryear was non-existent; save for a pit that was more congenial than over aggressive.
Two or three scuffles broke out in the crowd and Harley Flanagan was very quick to diffuse the scuffles. Harley made it clear his lack of tolerance for fighting. Harley also let his feelings be known for unity, brotherhood and being grateful for your loved ones. I couldn’t agree more. There were parents that took their little kids to this show. As for the music, I couldn’t stop moving; with my cane and screwed up knees. We’ve all gotten older and Harley doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. He’s forever immortalized in Metal and Hardcore history.

Cleveland Ohio’s Ringworm didn’t hold back nothing. They blazed and thundered through their set of songs like killer hornets. Human Furnace led his band like the Metal titan he is, vocally menacing. Opening for Cro-Mags, Ringworm set the Metal vibe on course. I always have more energy in the first half of any concert; thus I went into the pit with my cane and enjoyed every second of it. My fellow Metal brethren joined me in the pit, to cheer me on and make certain I didn’t fall down. It was more a nostalgic ceremony of yesteryear than anything else. I was so grateful to the brother/sisterhood that graciously joined me in celebration. My knees hurt so bad out there and the love and support I received from that Metal gathering brought me close to tears. I’ll never forget that night. God Bless them all and both bands. – Stone

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Nihilist Death Cult has recently released its debut album“Death To All Tyrants”. They are now releasing a video for the track “Obey & Consume”, which is about just following blindly and not questioning anything, and being a good consumer. The time to fight is always now, not later and it was inspired by John Carpenter’s “They Live”.
The video can be seen and heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.
The album “Death To All Tyrants” is in-your-face punk rock that combines angry riffs and hate-fuel lyrics about how the corporate-sponsored news media feeds you the stories and ideas they are paid to push. This record is about the victims standing up to the tyrants, it’s about choosing your own path and not blindly following norms if they don’t suit you. Bassist/vocalist Nick Sagias writes most of the music, but takes in input from his brother, drummer John Sagias and guitarist Ethan Bolduc. He shares their writing process:
“When I started writing for NDC, I knew that I wanted it to be aggressive, relentless, savage, no breakdowns, short songs, angry hardcore punk, the fact that my brother’s drumming fit perfectly in that and he was into it was a bonus for this otherwise it probably never would have happened. We just wanted to do this relentless style that we love and miss. Poison Idea, early DRI, early Bad Brains, the early dbeat bands, Discharge and GBH, that stuff gets the blood pumping and that’s the kinda stuff we wanna hear and see live.”
Those that get to witness Nihilist Death Cult play live can expect seasoned veterans going up on stage and putting on a show to match the energy of the music. There are no shoegazers here, just three passionate guys that want people to get into their music. They may be from Toronto but they are not a typical attitude Toronto band, they are the antithesis of that attitude.
The relatable lyrics are well enunciated making each of the nine songs on the album easy to pick up and get into. Nihilist Death Cult is recommended for fans of early DRI, early Bad Brains, and Nails.

HARM’S WAY’s most recent full-length, Posthuman, was released on Metal Blade Records in 2018. Having grown with each subsequent release, Posthuman was a devastating addition to HARM’S WAY‘s catalog. In 2019, HARM’S WAY released a remix EP of Posthuman titled PSTHMN, a record the band called, “the evolutionary counterpart to our 2018 full-length, Posthuman.” PSTHMN includes four remixed and reinterpreted tracks by artists that have continually inspired and influenced the band throughout its tenure.
