SCANNER sure aren’t strangers in the Metal scene, since they’ve been around since the mid-80’s!
SCANNER had a few bumps in the road of their journey so far, but that didn’t stop them from doing their thing! SCANNER always existed, even when there were false rumors circulating regarding the band’s status.
The band can look back on an impressive live history, including numerous live gigs worldwide, European tours and appearances at festivals, such as Germany’s Wacken Open Air.
From 1988 ’til 2002, SCANNER released 5 albums so far and now – almost 13 years after the release of their latest album “Scantropolis” – the band is back with a new record!
The band’s brand new album is entitled “The Judgement”! The cover artwork’s been created by Anestis Goudas.
The idea behind the album is that the Scanner has returned to earth to see what religion has done to mankind. He also asks himself how a society would evolve if there wouldn’t be any religion at all. Would it be possible to live in peace?
The new album promises to feature true and uncompromising Power Speed Metal! There will be catchy songs like the album’s title track, but also songs that will have you chanting and singing along and even high-speed Metal tracks.
SCANNER’s new album “The Judgement” is planned to be released in late January 2015 via Massacre Records!
The history of LONEWOLF, hailing from Grenoble (France), began back in 1992. They played True Heavy Metal since the very beginning and soon released several demo tapes as well as a 7” and recorded even an album, which unfortunately never got released and is referred to as “the lost album”. Following a bad experience with a French label, LONEWOLF split up in 1996.
They came back in 2000, along with the demo “March Into The Arena”, which was re-released as the band’s debut album via Goi Music in 2001.
The second album “Unholy Paradise” followed two years later. “Made In Hell” was released in 2008 via Eat Metal, followed by “The Dark Crusade” in 2009 (via Kathargo Records/Killer Metal Records). The band’s latest albums are “Army Of The Damned” (2012, Napalm Records) and “The Fourth And Final Horseman” (2013, Napalm Records).
LONEWOLF were the first French band ever to play in Greece and were opening act for Grave Digger at their first gig in France. During the past decade, LONEWOLF went on headliner EU tour w/ Dragonsfire and Iron Fate in 2011 and were part of the “Wolfsnächte Tour” 2012, along with Powerwolf, Stormwarrior and Mystic Prophecy. They also played at festivals such as the Up The Hammers (GR), Headbangers Open Air (GER), Hard Rock Session (FR), Beastival (DE) or the Metalfest Open Airs (DE and AT).
LONEWOLF’snew album “Cult Of Steel” will be released in autumn 2014 via Massacre Records!
GOD’S ARMY A.D. – On May 23rd, the self-titled debut album from God’s Army A.D. was released via Germany’s (great) Massacre Records. With no religious ties to their music, God’s Army A.D. are a seasoned group of musicians that have let the world know they can play an incredible blend of Melodic, Power and Traditional Metal. That’s what my ears and Metal senses have told me, anyways. Whoa.
If you’re hankering for screaming duo guitars, articulate and soaring vocals, goose-bump inducing drumming with adrenaline fueled bass thumping, this debut from God’s Army A.D. is for you! God’s Army A.D. plays a sound that is bullseye perfect for the BIG venues, with their wide-open feel and vibes on this album. As an unexpected touch, which I really dig, God’s Army A.D. adds a whoa-o chorus, on Waiting For The Miracle. Very cool.
John A.B.C. Smith (Scanner, Gallow’s Pole, Hallowed, At Vance) on vocals is in the same class with Mark Boals, Doogie White, Göran Edman and Blaze Bayley; just a terrific singer he is. Drummer Mark Cross (Kingdom Come, Helloween, Firewind) has an envious resume as well and trust my Metal word: Mark Cross brings it on this album!
Watch and listen to the God’s Must Be Crazy music video, below! Whoa!
There is a (delicious) old school quality of Metal swirling about this album, with Coming Back To Lifeand Running Around In Circles igniting my Metal memories to easier Metal days. Yes, the Metal relevance is saturated within this album too, with more hooks, riffs and fired-up fret work to make any Heavy Metal loyalist dizzy with Metal glee!
Is this an album that should be written on your Metal must list for 2014? Hell yes it is! With NO artificial sweeteners, NO ballads or fillers, God’s Army A.D. has made this middle-aged Metal knucklehead into an instant fan. This album simply makes me feel damn good. Metal be thy name. – Stone
Track Listing: The World That Never Was, City Lights, Gods Must Be Crazy, Waiting For The Miracle, Hear You Scream, Coming Back To Life, Running Around In Circles, God’s Army

From Massacre Records:
Here’s an introduction to the band:
Former Gallow’s Pole singer and At Vance/Scanner bassist John A.B.C. Smith formed GOD’S ARMY A.D. in 2004 – back then under the name God’s Army. The band’s name was recently changed to GOD’S ARMY A.D. due to legal reasons.
Two of his long-time friends and both guitarists, Ian O’Sullivan and Don Amiro, soon joined forces with him and they started writing their first songs in late 2004. In May 2005, John met drummer Mark Cross and their musical interests and combined ideas were the final push for GOD’S ARMY A.D.
In 2006 GOD’S ARMY A.D. played some very successful concerts indeed, not only supporting acts like Paul Di’Anno and Mystic Prophecy, but also selling out their own shows. The band quickly won the hearts of metalheads, building up a true fan base – not only in Germany – over a very short period of time. In 2007, whilst recording their first record, the unexpected happened: Mark Cross was offered to play for the band Firewind and he took it.
The exit of Mark from the band didn’t mean the end of it but another twist of fate: Lead singer John A.B.C. Smith had a severe car accident. This in turn threw him out of the game for a while and only in 2012 he celebrated his “coming back to life”.
Without knowing where the path would lead, John A.B.C. Smith re-recorded all of the old GOD’S ARMY A.D. songs again as some kind of art therapy and they took on a new form. It made him realize that now was the right time: GODS ARMY A.D. is back!
You can already watch the video clip for the new song “Gods Must Be Crazy”, directed by Eddie Van Dahl, below:
The self-titled debut album by GOD’s ARMY A.D. is set to be released on May 23, 2014 via Massacre Records!
Traditional metal meets modern synth sounds and progressive elements – with this combination VANISH prove that classic elements and modern metal elements can co-exist. The band’s compact songs with heavy riffs, strong melodies and bombastic parts create a unique and new sound.
Their songs deal with ever-present themes like mortality, anxiety or social problems. VANISH is a band that can look back on more than 14 years of live, studio and songwriting experience and that puts a lot of passion, effort and creativity into their music.
The band’s current line-up, consisting of Bastian Rose (vocals, keyboard), Tommy Rösch (guitar), Philipp Schönle (guitar), Daniele Dei Giudici (bass) and Ralf Nopper (drums), exists since more than a decade.
VANISH want to prove that innovative metal can inspire everyone – not only metal fans. In the past few years, VANISH rocked numerous clubs and festivals and supported bands such as Queensryche, Brainstorm, Mystic Prophecy, Axxis, Freedom Call and Kissin’ Dynamite.
VANISH’s upcoming album “Come To Wither” is set to be released in autumn 2014 via Massacre Records!
ILLDISPOSED have finished the recordings of their upcoming album at Denmark’s Antfarm Studio! Tue Madsen is soon going to take care of the mix as well as the mastering.
ILLDISPOSED’s new album will be entitled “With The Lost Souls On Our Side”! It will be the first album with new drummer Kim Langkjær Jensen, who permanently joined the band in autumn 2013.
Lasse Hoile once again created the beautiful cover artwork. He is also responsible for the artwork of the band’s previous records “1-800 Vindication”, “Burn Me Wicked” and “There Is Light… But It’s Not For Me”.
The band also posted the following statement on their facebook page a while ago: “Since we haven’t been able to reach an agreement on a cover song to record, we’ve decided to record a new version of one of our own oldies instead!”
ILLDISPOSED’s new album “With The Lost Souls On Our Side” is set to be released on June 27, 2014 via Massacre Records!
Good news, GLORYFUL’s new album is set to be released in late April.

You can listen to the brand new song “Cradle Of Heroes” in its entirety here:
The band has now also introduced their new bassist! Shortly before the recording of the upcoming album “Ocean Blade”, former bassist Oliver Karasch decided to leave GLORYFUL.
Oliver Karasch
Oliver stated:
“Due to personal reasons, I can’t fulfill the role as bassist of Gloryful anymore. It was a great time and I will always cherish the memories of great shows and the best company anyone could imagine. This has been the best band I ever played in and I’m glad that a good replacement could be found, otherwise I wouldn’t have left.”
Daniel Perl
Daniel Perl about his new role as GLORYFUL’s bassist:
“Working his artilleristic instrument, he had flattened the ground – besides his band members – for the infantristic sound to take over. As this good man has taken a back seat, it was my call to enter the band. With great pleasure and honor I’m taking the task that has been Oliver’s since the start of Gloryful. Locked and loaded and ready to rumble in the name of Heavy Metal, let the war begin!”
GLORYFUL’s new album “Ocean Blade” will be released on April 25, 2014 via Massacre Records!
EDGEDOWN’s debut album “Statues Fall” will be released in late April, via Massacre Records.
