Over the last several years I have sold many CDs that I no longer listen to and were just taking up space. It’s all about managing the physical space that I have. No regrets and the money I made was useful.

However, once a collector always a collector! Since January of this year, I have steadily purchased new CDs to add to my collection. Here are a handful of the CDs I’ve purchased this far in 2023. Please feel free to comment on mine and your CD buys.

I LOVE DEATH METAL!! With that said, SINISTER was a must purchase. I never owned SLAYER LIVE UNDEAD on CD, crazy as that sounds. I did own it on cassette and had it for decades. Anything MISFITS and take my money! The first ever JERRY ONLY solo album really, really ROCKS!! Holy shit, it ROCKS!!

I haven’t kept up with buying all of the Yngwie Malmsteen releases over the decades. There are so many too. So I decided to buy the Yngwie Malmsteen CD box set to re-energize my loyalty to his mind bending guitar virtuosity. Man, back in the 1980’s Yngwie was my ultimate Metal hero. The Original Misfits, one of the most influential, genre-defining bands to emerge from North America, have announced a limited run of shows for 2023 kicking off on June 24th in Tampa at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre with Megadeth, hitting the band’s home turf of NJ at the Prudential Center in Newark on July 8th with fellow New Jersey natives The Gaslight Anthem, followed by a performance at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre on July 15th in Phoenix with AFI. All three dates will also have support from FEAR.

That’s it above, my MISFITS Crimson Ghost wall clock! Whoa! Not too shabby, huh? I received this very cool MISFITS wall clock as a Christmas present from my family, several years ago. It’s battery operated, made of glass and keeps accurate time too. Dig it.

Since the MISFITS are in the news lately with their two huge reunion concerts, I decided what better time than now to share this with my fellow Metal Odyssey brethren. Thanks for looking and Metal Be Thy Name.

The Misfits will be performing live at the first ever Alternative Press Music Awards on July 21 at the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in Cleveland, Ohio. Watch it all happen live on AXS TV! Limited tickets available while they last: click here to get tickets now.

For almost 30 years, Alternative Press has been the go-to destination as the definitive source for news of the underground music scene. And for one very special night, music’s past, present and future will collide at the inaugural AP Music Awards fueled by Monster Energy Drink on July 21.

Not only will AP be presenting awards to their most celebrated artists, there will also be exclusive live performances from legendary horror-punk mavericks the MISFITS, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, Asking Alexandria, twenty one pilots and many more to be announced, including a few surprise guests. Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 will serve as host, with additional appearances including Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Korn, Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides), Machine Gun Kelly and Frankie Palmeri (Emmure), with more to be announced.

AXS TV will broadcast the show live to its more than 42 million U.S. household audience—so tune in at 8pm EST, (5PM PST). The AP Music Awards are produced by Kevin Lyman (founder & CEO of 4FINI) and Josh Bernstein (Golden Gods creator and producer). Executive Producers are Mike Shea, Dawn Marshman, and Joe Scarpelli.
