Philadelphia’s female fronted Metal/Hardcore/Punk act THE END A.D. has signed with Fastball Music for the release of the band’s next album, coming out in Autumn 2019!

The End A.D. was formed in 2014 and has members from some of the filthiest bands to ever plague the city of brotherly love. Ami Friend who is one of the most exciting singers to see live joined The End A.D. on vocals back in May of 2017. The band has already pounded out two releases since Ami joined the band: Their 12-inch color vinyl EP “The Smell of Despair” via Kill Time Records and their split cassette release “Sermon of Violence” with the all female Thrash band Tormentress from Singapore via Hellforced Records.

Southern Lord welcomes Amsterdam, Holland’s long-running hardcore punk kings VITAMIN X to the label for the upcoming release of the band’s sixth full-length recording, Age Of Paranoia.
VITAMIN X has unloaded their energetic brand of rock and thrash-soaked hardcore punk since the late 1990s. Having operated through diehard DIY efforts, the band has amassed an arsenal of albums, EPs, singles, splits, and more across a wide array of underground labels, including Havoc Records, Tankcrimes, Underestimated, AgiPunk, Refuse Records, and many others. Their most recent two LPs were recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Iggy Pop, Neurosis), and their 2016-released ”About To Crack” video went viral and reached more than a million views.
Well-known for their energetic and explosive live shows which attract fans from across the metal, punk, and rock spectrum, VITAMIN X has toured around the world several times, from Japan to the United States, from South America to Southeast Asia, and beyond. The band has played on MTV and many large fests including Hellfest, Maryland Deathfest, and many others, and recently toured with Baroness and Harley Flannagan’s Cro-Mags.
The newest chapter in the band’s lineage, the new VITAMIN X full-length, Age Of Paranoia, was recorded by Igor Wouters at ARC Studios in Amsterdam. Packing sixteen volatile tracks into a white-knuckled twenty-eight minutes, Age Of Paranoia surges with rapid-fire punk angst packed with ripping rock leads and raised-fist gang-chant anthems. The album includes several special guest guitar solos by J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr., Witch) and Bubba Dupree (Void, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl’s Probot, Brant Bjork), and is completed with cover artwork is by Marald (Baroness, Kylesa, High On Fire).
VITAMIN X states of their liaison with Southern Lord, “This will be our first release on a major/bigger label as we’ve always operated in the do-it-yourself scene, even though bigger labels were interested in us in the past. We feel Southern Lord really fits with us, and Greg Anderson is an amazing guy, who just like us, comes from a hardcore punk background but is also into all kinds of other styles of music.”
Anderson offers, ”VITAMIN X creates music that pushes boundaries within a genre that is typically limited, a really unique fusion of old-school hardcore and rock, metal, and punk.”

Richmond Virginia based FRIEND OR FOE has hooked up with Flatspot Records for the release of their newly completed Foe EP this August.
Following FRIEND OR FOE‘s 2012 Know Your Rights EP on Reaper Records/Solid Bond Records and 2014 Outsider EP on Triple B Records, Foe sees the straightedge Hardcore/Punk outfit at their best yet. Packing five new tracks onto their third EP, the band’s undeniable NYHC influences see the band delivering coalescing the inspiration of Breakdown, Sick Of It All, Killing Time, Agnostic Front and the like with their own hard-hitting, energetic flow. Foe was recorded in the Winter and Spring months of 2016 at Studio F12 by Sam Deyerle and mastered by Mike Reaves and features art by Steven Kulesza.

REPLACEMENT TO BE NAMED FOR JULY – AUGUST DATES SO X CAN CONTINUE WITH THE TOUR IN SUPPORT OF ZOOM
(Los Angeles, CA) Legendary guitarist, punk legend, and all-around nice guy, Billy Zoom, has been diagnosed with cancer. Zoom was given the news that he has an aggressive form of bladder cancer and immediate treatment is necessary to fight the disease. The 67-year-old musician/producer/electronics wiz will begin chemo treatment next week.
In early 2010, Zoom revealed that he had been successfully treated for prostate cancer. After undergoing a radical prostatectomy, the cancer was caught in its early stages and he was given the ‘all clear’.
X and Zoom are committed to this weekend’s 4-album play shows at Orange County’s The Observatory where Billy will join his longtime bandmates on stage to play songs from his iconic bands first four albums. Joining X for these shows will be The Blasters and Mike Watt.
X will continue with their previously announced July and August mid-west and east coast tour dates as planned in support of Billy and his family. A replacement for Zoom will be announced shortly.
X and manager, Mike Rouse, have begun a fund to help Zoom with his upcoming medical costs.

The Dee Dee Ramone Exhibition will be held in Dee Dee’s home turf of NYC for the first time ever at the Hotel Chelsea Storefront Gallery (222 West 23rd Street), from December 10th, 2014 – January 1st, 2015. The launch of this exhibit will offer a preview of the soon-to-be-released Fender® Dee Dee Ramone Limited Edition Signature Precision Bass® guitar, a tool used by the enigmatic Ramone to leave his indelible fingerprint on rock history for generations to come.
This historic exhibition sanctioned by the rock legends’ own estate, will celebrate all of the facets of Dee Dee’s long-lasting artistic legacy: a founding member of the Ramones, one of the most influential punk-rock bassists and primary, prolific songwriter of world-famous group, as well as his work in the visual arts – proving that Dee Dee, who began painting more seriously in 1996, was an artist in every sense of the word. The breadth of Dee Dee’s art and achievements is so wide that one of his paintings, to be featured in the exhibit, was recently showcased in a question on America’s favorite quiz show Jeopardy.
Additionally, what makes this exhibition so incredibly unique is Dee Dee’s history with the iconic Hotel Chelsea, which is not only a place he frequented, and at times lived in, but was also the setting for his 2001 novel Chelsea Horror Hotel: A Novel, as well as the focus of many works of art which will be on display in the exhibition. The legendary Hotel Chelsea has been home to generations of writers, artists, musicians, and bohemians and Chelsea Hotels is continuing the dedication to its history and support of the arts through this exhibition.
In addition to featuring Dee Dee’s original art, wardrobe, memorabilia and rare artifacts, the Dee Dee Ramone exhibition will also include iconic photographs by world-famous photographers including Bob Gruen, Mick Rock, Chris Stein (Blondie), Ed Perlstein, Stephanie Chernikowski, Keith Green, Jenny Lens, Stanley Ryan Jones, Jimmy Steinfeldt and more TBA.
Previous exhibits of Dee Dee’s work have been held at La Luz De Jesus and famed street artist Shepard Fairey’s Subliminal Projects galleries in Los Angeles, and is now being presented in New York for the first time.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 1pm to 8pm every day, 7 days a week, starting Dec. 10, 2014 thru Jan. 1, 2015. Holiday hours will be in effect with an early closing on Christmas Eve, closed all of Christmas day, and early closing on New Years Eve. ADMISSION IS FREE! DO NOT MISS IT!!

On November 13th, 1987 – The Science Fiction/Action film, The Running Man, was released to theaters. This film stars the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger. The late Richard Dawson also stars as this film’s central villain. The Running Man was directed by Paul Michael Glaser with a screenplay by Steven E. de Souza. Director Paul Michael Glaser is also famously known as Detective David Starsky of the hit late 70’s television show: Starsky & Hutch.
On this day in 2006 – On the Route Of All Evil tour, Aerosmith played a 15 song set and Mötley Crüe played a 13 song set at the Cricket Pavillion in Phoenix, Arizona.

On this day in 1977 – With their debut album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols, The Sex Pistols reached #1 on the U.K. Albums Chart for the first and only time. As the only studio album ever released by this legendary band, its influence on Heavy Metal became evident in later years, with Motörhead and Anthrax covering God Save The Queen and Megadeth covering Anarchy In The UK.
On November 12th, 1982 – The Horror/Dark Comedy film, Creepshow, was released in U.S. theaters. With a brilliant screenplay by Stephen King and legendary directing from George A. Romero, Creepshow has earned status as a timeless Horror classic, in my Metal opinion. Creepshow consists of five short stories; each a gem in their own right.
Creepshow featured some famously talented actors of the day: Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, (the late) Leslie Nielsen, (the late) Carrie Nye, (the late) E. G. Marshall and of course, Ted Danson of Cheers fame. Stephen King is also the only actor, in one of the five short stories: The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill. Trust me, Stephen King puts on a grand performance, giving his Jordy Verrill character both a hilarious and somber persona. I highly recommend Creepshow to all who love Horror and Dark Comedy.
Man, I remember going to the theater to see this film with a cool Metal buddy named Jaime, back in 1982; our walk back home was at night, thus we were spooked pretty damn good! I just rented Creepshow a couple of weeks ago and watched it with my wife and daughter; it was their first time watching this movie and they were super-spooked by it all! Good times. Creepshow is… Metal!
On this day in KISSTORY – November 12th, 2014 – KISS Rocks Vegas Show #4 is tonight, at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Metal be thy name!
Born on November 12th, 1964 was David Ellefson. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, David! Hell-yeah and whoa! David Ellefson is the world-famous bassist and co-founding member for the legendary Megadeth. David Ellefson also played bass on the 2004 Soulfly album: Prophecy. David also released his autobiography, My Life With Deth, on October 29th, 2013.

60’s pop-rock icon Ronnie Spector (known for timeless classics like “Be My Baby” and “Baby I love You”) makes a special guest appearance lending her inimitable vocals to “This Magic Moment” and “You Belong to Me”. The expertise of Jimmy Destri (Blondie) shines on keyboards for re-workings of “Runaway” & “Great Balls of Fire”. Also featured is longtime Misfits & Ramones collaborator John Cafiero (Osaka Popstar) contributing melodic punk-pop backing vocals to “Dream Lover”, “Monster Mash” and “Runaway”. Ed Manion (of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street band) who has performed with a wide variety of artists—including 50’s icon Dion, provides saxophone for “Diana” and “Runaway”. The gamut of 50’s era music has been reinterpreted along with a couple of 60’s era hits that were must haves for this theme driven collection.
Notably the highest charting release in the band’s entire legacy, “Project 1950” is presented in an all-new expanded edition featuring three never-before released bonus tracks with Misfits drummer Eric “Chupacabra” Arce rounding out the lineup. All three songs have an underlying horror-centric common thread, and are newly recorded exclusively for this release!
