Literally invading U.S. shores, AMON AMARTH’s main stage slot on the http://www.rockstarmayhemfest.com, currently underway, the band’s mammoth stage production, including a Viking Longboat and the amassing armies in the war between Odin and Loki, has lit up the internet with excitement for the band’s set.

Said Metalassault.com, “the stunning stage production was what really made this AMON AMARTH show stand out from their own past shows, and indeed from all other bands that played this festival.” Agreed Mxdwn.com “Perhaps the day’s best set came next at the main stage. Swedish Viking rockers AMON AMARTH delivered the best tenets of Scandinavian death metal. Fronting a massive mural of their new album Deceiver of the Gods… the band also proudly displayed a full-scale Viking battle barge as the centerpiece of their set design. Their drummer Fredrik Andersson was perched atop semi-hidden by the ship’s bow. The group’s equally large lead singer Johan Hegg bounded from one side of the stage to the other bellowing in his demonic howl. The title track from their new album and ‘Death in Fire’ were both great, but it was ‘Twlight of the Thunder God’ that packed the most punch and fury.”

AMON AMARTH is currently putting the finishing touches on the official video for colossal track Father Of The Wolf. The video will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Until then, check out the trailer now playing at the band’s microsite: http://deceiver.amonamarth.com.

 Critical Praise:

“Deceiver of the Gods goes from rampaging to brooding to anthemic over a well-conceived trajectory…. This is an album that begs to be consumed in its entirety at every listen, just to get the full experience.” – Decibel

“No one delivers big, punch-in-the-face motifs better than AMON AMARTH, and the Swedish melodic-death-metal titans have excelled themselves on their ninth studio album… Not only does Johan Hegg deliver his fiercest growls ever, but he also duets mesmerizingly with operatic ex-Candlemass frontman Messiah Marcolin on ‘Hel.’” – Revolver
