The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is offering fans the opportunity to officially participate in the induction selection process. The public has the opportunity to vote for the five nominees they believe to be most deserving of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2014 inductees, who will be announced soon.

I’d love KISS to win but would also be pretty happy to see Deep Purple and Yes get the nod. I love all those bands and they absolutely deserve it!

I understand your thoughts for certain! Obviously, we were able to vote for “5” nominees… I most definitely voted for Yes and Deep Purple too! I also voted for Hall & Oates and Nirvana. 🙂 \m/\m/
What I wanna know is… what the hell is Chic doing there being nominated? Nominated for what? Chic was a carbon-copy Disco band and revolutionized nothing. Who in the Rock Music world claims Chic as an influence?? Unbelievable.

Don’t know much about Chic but I’d definitely question them making it in ahead of a band like Deep Purple or KISS! Shame on them for not getting Purple in there while Jon Lord was still around.

I agree. It’s disgusting that place and the inducted musicians that vote NEVER acknowledged Deep Purple either. It’s mind boggling to ponder. 😮

I wish I understood the criteria…as much as I admire and appreciate the skills of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards…even if you count the Power station connection – they are by no means Rock n Roll. In that whole list of nominees, there are only about 4 acts that could claim to be. Crazy.

I 100% agree with you about Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards… and there truly is a Rock and (to a degree) Hard Rock connection with Bernard Edwards.
I still can recall the 100 million times I heard “Le Freak” start up on the radio stations back in the day. LOL!! Ugh.
