On This Day In METAL History – May 9th…
On May 9th, 1987 – Europe was ranked at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, with their studio album: The Final Countdown. This was Europe’s third studio album and it went on to sell three million (plus) copies in the United States alone.
On May 9th, 1992 – The great Def Leppard had their hit single, Let’s Get Rocked, ranked at #15. This song is featured on Def Leppard’s fifth studio album: Adrenalize.
On May 9th, 2015 – Göteborg, Sweden’s AVATAR have their studio album from 2012, Black Waltz (deluxe edition), ranked at #29, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart.
On May 9th, 2015 – AVATAR also have their studio album from 2014, Hail The Apocalypse (deluxe edition), ranked at #32, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Whoa!
TOM PETERSSON
On May 9th, 1950, Tom Petersson was born. Tom Petersson is world-known as the bassist, co-songwriter, backing vocalist and founding member of the legendary Cheap Trick. Happy Birthday, Tom Petersson! Whoa and hell yeah!
