On This Day In METAL History – May 10th…
On May 10th, 1984 – Twisted Sister released their third studio album Stay Hungry. This album went on to become the band’s most successful album, while selling three million (plus) copies in the United States alone.
On May 10th, 1986 – Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee married famed actress Heather Locklear (Dynasty, Melrose Place) in Santa Barbara, California. Unfortunately, the pair would later divorce in August of 1993. Shown above: Pearl Drums promotional banner.
On May 10th, 2003 – Aerosmith’s charismatic and legendary singer, Steven Tyler, received an honorary doctorate degree in music from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Whoa!
On May 10th, 2015 – The Who Hits 50! is ranked at #9 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart. This compilation album also includes one brand new song from The Who: Be Lucky. Long live the legacy of The Who!
On May 10th, 2015 – The debut studio album Creatures, from Pennsylvania’s Motionless In White, is ranked at #100, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Creatures was released back in October of 2010, via Fearless Records.
