On This Day In METAL History – May 11th… From IRON MAIDEN To ERIC BURDON
On May 11th, 1982 – The incredible IRON MAIDEN began their North American leg of their tour in support of their third studio album: The Number of the Beast. This concert took place at the IMA Auditorium in Flint, Michigan, opening for Rainbow. During The Beast On The Road tour, IRON MAIDEN also opened for 38 Special, Scorpions and Judas Priest. Whoa!!
On May 11th, 1990 – Nelson’s hit single More Than Ever is ranked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. This song is featured on Nelson’s debut studio album from 1990: After The Rain.
On May 11th, 2015 – The cover song Bad Company, from Five Finger Death Punch, is ranked #1 on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Songs Chart. This cover song is featured on the second studio album from Five Finger Death Punch from 2009: War Is The Answer.
The original song was recorded by Bad Company and is featured on their debut and self-titled studio album from 1974; it was written by vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke of Bad Company.
On May 11th, 2015 – In This Moment has their compilation album Rise Of The Blood Legion: Greatest Hits (Chapter 1) ranked at #5 on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Whoa! This album was released on May 4th, 2015, via Century Media.

ERIC BURDON
On May 11th, 1941, Eric Burdon was born in England. Happy Birthday, Eric Burdon! Whoa, man! Eric Burdon is world-famously known as the lead singer for Hard Rock pioneers: The Animals. Eric Burdon has also enjoyed a very successful solo music career, continuing to this day. The Animals were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame back in 1994.

That cover of Bad Company by FFDP is probably better than the original version. Killer song.

LOL! I 100% understand your point. Well, it does have more POWER behind it, that’s for sure! I’ll forever love the original version, yet FFDP certainly has elevated it to a better level of psyche-you-out territory. You ROCK \m/\m/
