On This Day In METAL History – June 8th… From EXTREME To LAMB OF GOD
On June 8th, 1991 – Extreme has their hit ballad, More Than Words, ranked at #1, on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Whoa! This song is featured on the second studio album from Extreme, released in 1990: Extreme II: Pornograffitti. Long live Extreme!
On June 8th, 1996 – Metallica reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first and only time with their hit single: Until It Sleeps. This song peaked at number ten. Until It Sleeps is featured on Metallica’s sixth studio album, released in 1996: Load.
On June 8th, 2003 – The magnificent Led Zeppelin reached the top of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart for the first time in twenty-four years, with their triple live album: How The West Was Won. This album features live performances from their 1972 United States tour. How The West Was Won spent just one week on top of this album chart.
