On This Day In METAL History – June 9th… From NIGHT RANGER To LAMB OF GOD
On June 9th, 1979 – The second annual Texxas Jam (Texas World Music Festival ’79) took place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The impressive Hard Rockin’ bill included these legendary bands: Van Halen, Boston, Nazareth, Heart, TKO, Blue Oyster Cult and Sammy Hagar.
On June 9th, 1984 – Night Ranger peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their hit power ballad: Sister Christian. This song was Night Ranger’s first top ten single in the United States. This song is featured on the second studio album from Night Ranger: Midnight Madness. Long live Night Ranger!
On June 9th, 2015 – The mighty GORGOROTH have their newly released and ninth studio album, Instinctus Bestialis, ranked at #20, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Whoa, man!
On June 9th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album from Lamb Of God, V11: Sturm Und Drang (deluxe edition) is now ranked at #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Yeah! This album will be released on July 24th, 2015. Long live Lamb Of God!
On June 9th, 2015 – The Lamb Of God studio album, Sacrament, is ranked at #21, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album was released back in the late Summer of 2006. Holy moly, guacamole!
