On This Day In METAL History – June 13th… From MOUNTAIN To FFDP
On June 13th, 1970 – Heavy Metal pioneers Mountain had their hit single, Mississippi Queen, ranked at #21, on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Holy mackerel!
On June 13th, 1980 – The motion picture Roadie was released to wide-screen theaters. This film stars: Meatloaf, Kaki Hunter and (the late) Art Carney. Alice Cooper, Blondie, Hank Williams, Jr. and (the late) Roy Orbison also appear in Roadie. Hell and yeah!
On June 13th, 1987 – Whitesnake had their seventh and self-titled studio album ranked at #2, on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Whoa, man!
On June 13th, 1995 – Industrial Metal legends Fear Factory released their second studio album: Demanufacture. Freaking yeah!
On June 13th, 2015 – The insane great studio album, War Is The Answer, from the mighty Five Finger Death Punch, is ranked at #10, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album was originally released back in 2009. Yes, this is the album that has the killer cover song: Bad Company. Long live FFDP!
