On This Day In METAL History – July 11th… From DEF LEPPARD To THY ART IS MURDER
On July 11th, 1981 – Def Leppard released their second studio album High ‘n’ Dry. This was the band’s first album to be produced by Mutt Lange. High ‘n’ Dry went on to peak at number 38 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, eventually selling two million (plus) copies in the United States. Holy cannoli!
On July 11th, 2014 – The sensational SCORPIONS performed at Dalhalla in Rättvik, Sweden. This was one of many, many dates on their Rock & Roll Forever Tour. Johan Franzon filled in for James Kottak on drums.
On July 11th, 2015 – The UK’s TESSERACT have their forthcoming studio album, Polaris, album ranked at #24, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Whoa. This album releases on September 18th, 2015.
On July 11th, 2015 – Canadian Death Metal legends KATAKLYSM have their forthcoming studio album, Of Ghosts And Gods, ranked at #91, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Cool. This album releases on July 31st, 2015, via Nuclear Blast Records.
On July 11th, 2015 – Australia’s Thy Art Is Murder have their newly released studio album, Holy War, debuting at #82, on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Righteous, man!
