On This Day In METAL History – July 13th… From LED ZEPPELIN To FOR ALL ETERNITY
On July 13th, 1985 – The legendary Led Zeppelin re-forms (with the talented Phil Collins replacing the late John Bonham on drums) for the Live Aid benefit concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. * Tony Thompson of Chic also played drums during this Rock historic set for Led Zeppelin; this is usually never mentioned, due to reasons I cannot explain.
On July 13th, 1993 – Legendary RUSH singer and bassist Geddy Lee sang “O Canada” at the 64th Major League Baseball All Star Game, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Cool stuff! Shown above is the cover feature for Bass Guitar Magazine – January, 2003.
On July 13th, 1994 – KISS performed with legendary Country Star Garth Brooks on The Tonight Show, for a performance of Hard Luck Woman. Whoa, man! Garth Brooks had recorded Hard Luck Woman, with KISS, for the (1994) KISS tribute album (which featured multiple artists of all genres): KISS My Ass: Classic KISS Regrooved.
On July 13th, 2006 – The sensational SCORPIONS performed an acoustical set at Vassilyevskiy Spusk in Moscow, Russia. How about that!?
On July 13th, 2015 – The newly released studio album, Coma Ecliptic, from Between The Buried And Me is ranked #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Send it in!
On July 13th, 2015 – The newly released studio album, Metanoia, from Australia’s For All Eternity is ranked at #11, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Whoa!
