On August 26th, 1970 – The Isle of Wight Festival began in England. Rock and Hard Rock legends who appeared included: Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Jethro Tull, Free and Chicago. Whoa, man! Uh… I was only 3 years and 7 months old on that Rock historic day.
On August 26th, 2000 – The super legendary IRON MAIDEN performed at the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. This was a concert on IRON MAIDEN’s Brave New World Tour. Hail IRON MAIDEN!
On August 26th, 2015 – The new studio album, Meliora, from the sinister band known as GHOST is ranked at #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Spooky stuff.
On August 26th, 2015 – The studio album Yggdrasil from Norway’s WARDRUNA is ranked at #100, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album was released back on April 2nd of 2013. Jumping Jiminy!
BONUS USA HISTORY FACT:
In 1920, the 19th Amendment was formally adopted, granting women the right to vote in the USA.
