Official Metal Odyssey Press Release:

It’s been a wild and crazy ride these past four years at Metal Odyssey. With coverage and promotion of many Metal genres, along with Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Punk Rock and Alternative Rock in the mix, the Rockin’ journey has been more than memorable for me. I only hope the following news does not hurt the relationships I’ve built with so many Metal bands and Metal Buddies worldwide. I thank you all from the bottom of my (still) Metal lovin’ heart.

Now it’s time for a change. It’s not that I’ve grown tired of Metal. I live for Metal. I breathe Metal. This changeover is all about my wanting to break into the mainstream and be accepted for a change by “the big guys of the Pop Music world” like Rolling Stone magazine and the only way to do so is to cover and promote: Pop Music. I certainly hope and pray that ALL the loyal followers to Metal Odyssey and ALL my Metal brethren will understand and support what is happening here. Metal Odyssey is now… Pop Odyssey.

My dream has and always will be to one day cover the Grammy Awards at the red carpet, as the mainstream chart-toppers get out of their limousines for an evening of justified awards and champagne on ice. I need to experience this and “Metal Odyssey” will not take me there.

Believe me, this has all taken many weeks of soul searching. Change is a good thing. Without this change, life would become boring for me as a writer and lover of music. And…

  1. I admit, halfway through I was actually believeing it! Good to see you defending the metal faith \m/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfsviv-YusE

    • LOL! Thanks Metal Buddy! By the way… that Judas Priest song “Defenders Of The Faith” sounds better every time I listen to it! A grand Metal choice on your part \m/\m/

  2. Mike DeCesare's avatar
    Mike DeCesare Says:

Stone, you are an awesome sonofabitch! I totally forgot it was April 1 so you got me on this one – well done my friend! For a second I thought I had one too many jelly beans…

    Rock on brother! \m/\m/

  3. Holy sh*t Stone, you had me debating whether to think that you must what you must and saying you sold out. As if you ever would! Great joke and Happy April Fool’s Day!!

  4. Good April Fools prank!
You should’ve said that you were changing your name from “Stone” to “Plastic” too!
    😀

Check my April Fools post too:

    April Fools … kinda

  5. Man, I was about to recommend a good metal psychiatrist to put you back on track! I was scared, man!! Especially after throwing something at the TV last night when Justin Bieber appeared on a (what was up until then a credible) documentary about Michael Jackon’s ‘Bad’ album! – I was seriously in an anti-pop frame of mind! You got me good! …I mentioned the ‘B’ word on Metal Odyssey. Woah. I need to go and wash my mouth out with liquid mercury man.

    • LOL! LOL! Kev, you were scared! I guess I really ‘gotcha’… whoa! Uh, oh. I know a Metal ‘payback’ may be in the wake… LOL!! No liquid mercury! It’s an open music forum! LOL!!

Why would dustin beileverber appear on that documentary? There’s absolutely no musical connection between the legendary Michael Jackson and Jodi Beelieber. I’m sorry you had to have your cool documentary ruined by that spoiled little billionaire boy like that.

I do respect ‘Old School Pop’ due to it’s musical integrity and songwriting; so many legends with deep rooted Rock ‘N’ Roll roots or Motown Soul and R&B. There will never be another MJ, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Boz Scaggs, Elton John, Billy Joel, Diana Ross or Whitney Houston. Even Tom Jones gives the songs he covers a vibrant life of their own.

The sound-alikes of today’s fast-food Pop circus are too busy making sure their ‘live’ lip synching performances are top-notch, while blaming their personal troubles on everything and everyone else except themselves.

Whoa! I guess I stepped onto my soapbox this morning! You Rock Metal Buddy \m/\m/

      • You get on that soapbox anytime you like Stone, I’ll be right there with ya! MJ understood rock – working with EVH, Lukather, Steve Stevens, Jennifer Batten- I couldn’t ‘belieb’ that little scrote was on the doc in such company! I had to mute it for his contributions, LOL!

        • You’re right about that! There are undisputed Rock connections with MJ. Orianthi too! That gal can play some mean licks! \m/\m/

          “Little scrote”… LOL! LOL!
