On October 6th, 1979 – Led Zeppelin’s In Through The Out Door was #1 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. Six versions of the album’s cover were issued, (above photo), each depicting the same bar scene, photographed from one of six different angles.

On this day in 1990 – Queensrÿche peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, with their fourth studio album, Empire. This sensational album went on to become Queensrÿche’s best-selling album, selling three million copies in the United States alone.

Billy Idol - LA Woman -  cover promo single - #33B

On October 6th, 1990 – Billy Idol peaked at number fifty-two on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, with his cover of The Doors’ L.A. Woman. It was Billy Idol’s last single to chart in the United States.

On this day in 2006 – Mumbai-based EMI Virgin India Ltd. announces that it will recall all copies of the most recent Slayer album, Christ Illusion, following protests by a Christian group, Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum (CSF).
