On December 1st, 1973 – The (now iconic) single Dream On by Aerosmith initially peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Dream On was reissued as a single two and a half years later and peaked at # six.
On this day in 1984 – On Saturday Night Live, Billy Squier made his first and only appearance as a musical guest; this was episode seven of that season.
On December 1st, 1989 – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is released to wide-screen theaters. This comedy/family classic has since become a mainstay in the lineup of holiday movie cable television reruns, purchases and rentals, proving its timeless ability to tickle the Metal funny bone. On December 1st, 2014 – The mighty Machine Head perform a concert at Klubben/Fryshuset in Stockholm, Sweden. The supporting bands are: Devil You Know, Darkest Hour and Sonic Syndicate.
On this day in 2014 – The super legendary Ace Frehley (aka) Space Ace, performs a concert at Trees in Dallas, Texas. Long live Ace Frehley! Whoa.
JOHN DENSMORE
On December 1st, 1944, John Densmore was born in California. Happy Rockin’ birthday, John! Man, whoa! John Densmore is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who is most famously known as a co-founding member and drummer for The Doors. Legends anyone? The Doors were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, back in 1993. ‘Nuff said.
