On This Day In METAL History – December 18th…
On December 18th, 1977 – RUSH performed at the University Of Dayton Arena, in Dayton, Ohio. RUSH were touring in support of their fifth studio album: A Farewell To Kings.
On this day in 1978 – The iconic Led Zeppelin completed recording of their final studio album, In Through the Out Door, in Stockholm, Sweden. If you don’t own this Led Zeppelin album, you are constipated.
On December 18th, 1981 – RUSH performed at the Hartford Civic Center, in Hartford, Connecticut. RUSH were touring in support of their eighth studio album: Moving Pictures.
On this day in 1986 – Bon Jovi hits #4 in the United Kingdom with their single: Livin’ On A Prayer. This hit is featured on the third studio album from Bon Jovi, released in 1986: Slippery When Wet. This album has sold over 12 million units in the United States, alone. Whoa!!
On December 18th, 1987 – The comedy concert film Eddie Murphy RAW was released in the United States, to wide-screen theaters, via Paramount. Of course, it stars the great Eddie Murphy and he is incredibly, absolutely hilarious during this concert. This concert was filmed at the Felt Forum, (a venue in the famed Madison Square Garden), in New York City. KEITH RICHARDS
On December 18th, 1943, Keith Richards was born in England. Happy Rockin’ birthday, Keith! Whoa, man! Keith Richards is super world-famous as a co-founding member, songwriter and guitarist for The Rolling Stones. What more can be said, other than Keith Richards is an influential, whiz-bang legend of Rock And Roll? A timeless Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer, is Keith Richards. Long live Keith Richards!
ELLIOT EASTON
On December 18th, 1953, Elliot Easton was born, in Brooklyn, New York. Happy Rockin’ birthday, Elliot! Whoa and yeah! Elliot Easton is world-famously known as a co-founder, songwriter and guitarist for New Wave/Alternative Rock pioneers The Cars.
Elliot Easton is currently finding immense success with his new Rock supergroup: The Empty Hearts. The debut and self-titled album from The Empty Hearts was released on August 5th, 2014. The Empty Hearts have been currently touring as well. Long live Elliot Easton!
The Empty Hearts are: Elliot Easton (guitar), Clem Burke (drums), Andy Babiuk (bass) and Wally Palmar on guitar and vocals.
This new album from The Empty Hearts is a true non-stop ride of Rock And Roll fun, with exceptionally crafted songs. If you’re serious about your Rock Music, then I highly recommend picking this album up. Whoa.
