On This Day In METAL History – December 23rd… IRON MAIDEN Edition!
1981 – The great Iron Maiden performed at The Ruskin Arms in London, England. Iron Maiden were touring in support of their second studio album: Killers. Vocalist Paul Di’Anno was fronting Iron Maiden. Man, how time moves quickly by.
1995 – The iconic Iron Maiden performed at IJsselhallen in Zwolle, Netherlands, during their X Factour. Iron Maiden were touring in support of their tenth studio album: The X Factor. Vocalist Blaze Bayley was fronting Iron Maiden on this tour; he also made his debut on The X Factor studio album from 1995.
2006 – The powerful Iron Maiden performed Earls Court in London, England; one of many stops on the A Matter Of Life And Death Tour. Iron Maiden’s fourteenth studio album, A Matter Of Life And Death peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart in the United States.

On December 23rd, 1956, Dave Murray was born in England. Happy Metal birthday, Dave! Whoa, man! Dave Murray is world-famously known as a guitarist and songwriter for the amazing Iron Maiden. Dave Murray has been a life-long member of Iron Maiden, performing on all 15 Iron Maiden studio albums and all 11 live albums. Long live Dave Murray. Metal be thy name!
