On This Day In METAL History – December 26th…
On December 26th, 1967 – The Doors and Chuck Berry began a three night stand at The Fillmore Scene At Winterland, in San Francisco, California. The (late) Bill Graham was the concert promoter. The artist for above concert flyer was Bonnie MacLean. Legends, all.
On this day in 1981 – AC/DC reaches #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart with For Those About To Rock We Salute You. Produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, this album was the first #1 for AC/DC. I love this album and my favorite songs on it are: Let’s Get It Up, C.O.D., Evil Walks, Put The Finger On You and Inject The Venom. Whoa!
On this day in KISSTORY – December 26, 1983: KISS opened the United States leg of their “Lick It Up” Tour, at The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. Lick It Up was the 11th studio album released by the mighty KISS, back in 1983 and first album cover to show KISS without their makeup. Holy moly!
On December 26th, 1987 – Def Leppard hits #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Animal. This song is featured in Def Leppard’s fourth studio album from 1987: Hysteria. Boasting seven hit songs, Hysteria reached #1 in both the UK and United States. Holy mackerel!
