On This Day In METAL History – January 5th…
On January 5th, 1969 – During Led Zeppelin’s first North American tour, they played the last of a four night stand at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, California. Alice Cooper (band) was the supporting act. At this point in time, Led Zeppelin were billed as: Led Zeppelin Featuring Jimmy Page, Formerly Of The Yardbirds. Whoa!
On this day in 1978 – The Sex Pistols made their North American concert debut at the Great Southeast Music Hall, in Atlanta, Georgia. There was an estimated attendance of 500 people.
On January 5th, 1991 – The great IRON MAIDEN reached #1 on the UK singles chart with: Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter. This song is featured on IRON MAIDEN’s astounding 1991 studio album: No Prayer For The Dying.
