On This Day In METAL History -June 11th… From MOTÖRHEAD To GOZU
On June 11th, 1966 – THE ROLLING STONES had their amazing hit, Paint It Black, ranked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Paint It Black is featured on the 1966 studio album from THE ROLLING STONES: Aftermath. I was 4 months old, back on June 11th, 1966. Whoa, man!!
On June 11th, 1982 – E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial was released to movie theaters, via Universal. This iconic film was directed by the great Steven Spielberg. This movie was written by Melissa Mathison and starred: Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, Robert MacNaughton and Drew Barrymore. In my Metal opinion, E.T. is and will always be… Metal.
On June 11th, 2016 – The newly released MOTÖRHEAD Clean Your Clock (Live In Munich 2015) is ranked at #15, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Rest In Peace, Lemmy Kilmister.
On June 11th, 2016 – The newly released D.R.I. But Wait… There’s More! EP is ranked at #20, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. D.R.I. FOREVER!!
On June 11th, 2016 – Boston’s very own GOZU have their newly released studio album, Revival, ranked at #47, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Revival was released by the cool dudes of Ripple Music. Hot damn and kick that Metal can! Dig it.
