  1. Loved their first album but the one new is a one hundred degree artistic turn that has more in common with modern hard rock bands then say their heroes, not horrid but not very compelling.

I dug “Light From Above” too. I have not listened to even a sample of this new Black Tide yet. This is one CD that I felt comfortable buying without hearing prior. I’ve read “Hard Rock” being thrown around… and your having/listening to the new album and concluding these thoughts makes me really wonder… whoa! Why would Black Tide change now? (!)

Well, I just hope it is an artistic decision based on the band and not some snotty record executive trying to capitalize on the “flavor of the month” by changing Black Tide’s sound… and placing them in an entirely different genre.

I Really don’t want to see Black Tide stray away from Thrash or even Speed Metal.

I’ll still buy this new Black Tide… due to my inability to stop myself from grabbing it when I see it. My name is Stone… and I’m a Rockaholic. LOL! Thanks Manny for the Metal heads up! \m/
