Born on this day in 1947, in the UK, was the pioneering Glam/Hard Rock legend: Marc Bolan. As a guitarist, singer and songwriter for T Rex, their 1972 single Bang A Gong, (Get It On) from the Electric Wizard album became a Top 10 hit in the US. Tragically, Marc Bolan passed away from injuries he sustained in a car accident, on September 16th, 1977.
