On October 24th, 1964 – The Kinks reach #7 in the U.S. with their Rockin’ single: You Really Got Me. In 1978, this song was featured as a heavier cover version, on the debut and self-titled album from Van Halen.
On this day in 1970 – The Kinks peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Lola. This Rock classic was The Kinks’ fourth top ten single in the United States.
On October 24th, 2006 – Live To Win, the second solo album from KISS vocalist, guitarist and co-founder Paul Stanley was released. Along with Paul Stanley, John 5 played guitar on this album.
Born on October 24th, 1936 was Bill Wyman. Happy Birthday, Bill! Whoa! Billy Wyman is an English musician, record producer, songwriter and singer; most famously known as being the bassist for The Rolling Stones, from 1962 to 1993.
