On This Day In METAL History – November 14th, From Jimi Hendrix To At The Gates
On November 14th, 1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience, (The) Pink Floyd, The Move and (The) Amen Corner kicked off a U.K. tour at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. Whoa!!
On this day in 1971 – Slade hits #1 in the UK with their hit single: Coz I Love You.
On November 14th, 1987 – Billy Idol peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, with his first compilation album Vital Idol. This album went on to become certified Platinum in the U.S., by the RIAA.
On this day in 1991 – Aerosmith were inducted into the Boston Garden Hall of Fame.
On November 14th, 1992 – Bon Jovi reached number one on the UK albums chart for the second time, with their fifth studio album: Keep the Faith. This album spent one week on top of the chart. In the U.S., Keep The Faith peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
On this day in 1995 – The influential Swedish Melodic Death Metal band, At The Gates, released their fourth studio album: Slaughter Of The Soul. This would be the band’s last studio album, until 2014’s highly anticipated comeback: At War With Reality.
On November 14th, 2000 – Rush co-founder, singer and bassist Geddy Lee released his 11 song, debut solo album: My Favourite Headache.
JAMES “JY” YOUNG
On November 14th, 1949, James Young was born, in Illinois. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, James! Indeed! James Young is a world-class Guitarist, singer and songwriter who is a life-long lead guitarist for the legendary Hard Rock band Styx. James has also released three solo albums. FRANKIE BANALI
On November 14th, 1951, Frankie Banali was born in Queens, New York. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, Frankie! Whoa, man! Frankie Banali is a world-renowned drummer and famously known as the drummer for the legendary Quiet Riot. Frankie Banali has also played for W.A.S.P. and Billy Idol on recordings.

ALEC JOHN SUCH
On November 14th, 1951, Alec John Such was born in Yonkers, New York. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, Alec! Yeah! Alex is famously known as the former bassist for Bon Jovi. Alec John Such parted ways with Bon Jovi during 1994.
