On November 16th, 1968The Jimi Hendrix Experience reached the top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart for the first time with their third and final studio album Electric Ladyland. This Rock historical album would spend two weeks at the number one position.

On November 16th, 1978 – The iconic Queen were awarded the Gold Ticket for playing to over 100,000 fans at Madison Square Garden. At this concert, during Fat Bottomed Girls, Queen were joined onstage by semi-nude female cyclists. Metal be thy name!!

On this day in 1982 – The mighty Iron Maiden were in Australia, nearing the end of The Beast On The Road Tour; the city was Brisbane and the venue was Festival Hall. This Iron Maiden tour was in support of the band’s legendary and third full-length studio album: The Number Of The Beast.

On November 16th, 1991Guns N’ Roses peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their hit Don’t Cry. This song marked their fifth top ten single in the United States.

On this day in 2005 – The second UK Music Hall Of Fame ceremony took place at the Alexandria Place in London. The Who, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne (solo), Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Eurythmics, Aretha FranklinBob Dylan and Joy Division/New Order were among the legendary Rock and Metal inductees.
