1974Clive Davis launches a new record label: Arista Records.

1980RUSH released their seventh studio album, Permanent Waves. This album went on to become RUSH’s first top five album in the United States, peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart the very next month. Two songs featured on this album, The Spirit Of Radio and Freewill, were FM radio favorites and now Classic Rock format mainstays.

1989Nirvana signed their first record contract, a three-year three-album agreement with Sub Pop Records. Whoa!
