On September 1st, 1979 – At the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, KISS began the second leg of their North American tour, supporting their seventh studio album: Dynasty. The mighty JUDAS PRIEST was the opening act for this leg of the tour. Metal Be Thy Name!

  1. I seen the Kiss Dynasty Tour when it hit Duluth Minnesota on Oct 6 1979. Judas Priest was listed as the opener but for some reason was a no show! In Priests place was a very young John Cougar!

    • Whoa! John Cougar! Now that is a diverse opening act for KISS! John Cougar must have been popular in the Midwest before branching out, I’m guessing.

      I’ve always liked and respected Cougar… that must have been a terrific night of Rock ‘N Roll that was made in the U.S.A.! 🙂

      • Actually the crowd booed him all night…the only cheer he got was when he said this was his last song……
        Remember this was a good 3 years before Jack And Diane,Hurts So Good hit big…. Still though this show is a good conversation piece…
