I seen the Kiss Dynasty Tour when it hit Duluth Minnesota on Oct 6 1979. Judas Priest was listed as the opener but for some reason was a no show! In Priests place was a very young John Cougar!

Whoa! John Cougar! Now that is a diverse opening act for KISS! John Cougar must have been popular in the Midwest before branching out, I’m guessing.
I’ve always liked and respected Cougar… that must have been a terrific night of Rock ‘N Roll that was made in the U.S.A.! 🙂

Actually the crowd booed him all night…the only cheer he got was when he said this was his last song……
Remember this was a good 3 years before Jack And Diane,Hurts So Good hit big…. Still though this show is a good conversation piece…

LOL! I’ll agree with “conversation piece”! That was a tough sell for KISS fans, I am sure. Maybe he got the gig at the last minute cuz he is a Midwest guy that was instantly available?

Yeah, John Cougar is All-American and his songs are about every day people, which I always found appealing. 🙂
