On This Day In METAL History – September 2nd… From IRON MAIDEN To KOBRA AND THE LOTUS
On September 2nd, 1992 – The astounding IRON MAIDEN performed at Brabanthallen, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. This was a concert on their Fear Of The Dark Tour. Whoa! Hail IRON MAIDEN!
On September 2nd, 2000 – Approximately 700 DEF LEPPARD fans received ticket refunds at the Oregon State Fair, in Salem, Oregon. This was due to DEF LEPPARD playing too quietly in order to obey local noise ordinances. Lesson learned: never perform a Heavy Metal concert in a community where constipated ABBA fans reside. Truth.
On September 2nd, 2015 – The sixth studio album from DISTURBED, Immortalized, is ranked at #1, on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Jumping kidney beans! By the way, all the bubble gum Pop artists on this same album chart have shit their pants.
On September 2nd, 2015 – The seminal studio album from MOTÖRHEAD, Ace Of Spades, is sitting at #19 on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. “…And don’t forget the joker!” This album was released back in 1980. MOTÖRHEAD has stood the test of time = Classic Rock ‘N Roll. Lemmy is a Rock ‘N Roll supreme being. ‘Nuff said.
On September 2nd, 2015 – KOBRA AND THE LOTUS have their newly released (cover song) EP Words Of The Prophets ranked at #55, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Kobra Paige has beautiful vocals and her band kicks outright ass. Honestly, get into this band, cause Stone wouldn’t bullshit you.

Did Def Leppard play to only 700 people or were those just the ones who complained? Kind of sad to see them sink to something like that anyway.

I am guessing those were the number of people that wanted the refund. (!) Yikes.
