OVERKILL “IN UNION WE STAND” – MUSIC VIDEO FROM 1987!
OVERKILL – The second studio album from this legendary and pioneering Thrash Metal band was released back in 1987, on Megaforce Records, aptly titled – TAKING OVER. When I first heard OVERKILL, that was it. I was hooked. The vocals of Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth combined with the guitar speed and Thrashin’ raging sound that Bobby Gustafson is handing out on this Taking Over album is incredible. With D.D. Verni on bass and Rat Skates on drums… this was vintage OVERKILL. I can remember the days of staring at this Taking Over album cover and thinking two words: bad ass. OVERKILL will always be bad ass for this Metalhead, each and every passing day of my Metal lovin’ life.
In Union We Stand from the Taking Over album has always been a “Metal United” anthem for me. Here’s hoping you get the same Metal thrill from this song as I do!
* A while back, I wrote a mini review on Taking Over. It shouldn’t take too many words to convince someone just how unreal great this album is. You can read it by clicking on this link: OVER KILL – TAKING OVER
OVERKILL as they appeared on TAKING OVER:
Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth – vocals
D.D. Verni – bass & backing vocals
Bobby Gustafson – guitar
Rat Skates – drums
LONG LIVE OVERKILL!
Stone.

One of my fav. Thrash bands from the 80’s.
Hit or miss (but still solid) in the 90’s and then back in fine form in the 2000’s.
“In union we stand,
As they! blaze across the land!!!
In union, we make a final stand…”
So glad I got to re-unite with them in 2010. Long live OVERKILL!
Thrash on…

You lucky again. 🙂

Love Overkill and I am amazed that they are still going and still releasing quality material, but hell we all know heavy metal bands never die, disband and even if they do the music lives on forever.

Overkill really solidified their current Metal presence and legacy this year with “Ironbound”. Easily they have been THE most consistent Thrash Metal band since their debut “Feel The Fire”… both in touring and albums. Regardless of lineup changes… this current Overkill lineup has been together long enough. “Blitz” and DD proved they can steer this Thrash Metal machine through the Grunge era without a scratch on ’em!
“Horrorscope” is my favorite Overkill album EVER. Yes, Rat Skates and Gustafson were gone by then… it’s just my personal choice. That album carried me through a real lousy period in my life.
OVERKILL 4EVER!!!

Love Overkill, have never made a bad album. I only got to see them once, but I did get to meet them, which was a bonus.
