Five years removed from the band’s debut full-length, Vítahringur, Mannveira emerges once more from Reykjavík’s black metal underground. Featuring seven new rituals culled from the primordial darkness, Vesöld offers no salvation.
Raw and dissonant at its core, the album twists abrasive black metal through moments of stark melody, creating a work that is as haunting as it is hostile.
Vesöld sees Mannveira achieve a balance of chaos and atmosphere, with a cold melodic undercurrent that shatters through the discord. Bleak and immediate, Vesöld marks a compelling return from the depths of Iceland’s black metal underground.
Stream the album’s first single, “Lygar himinsins,” here.
