HEART “Fanatic” – New Studio Album Releases On October 2nd, 2012

HEART – The 14th studio album from Heart, Fanatic, will be released on October 2nd, 2012, via Legacy Recordings/Sony. From Seattle, Washington, the legendary Heart has delivered their timeless Rock/Hard Rock sound and songs to countless fans across the globe. Spanning five decades of recording and touring, Ann (vocals) and Nancy Wilson (guitar) have continuously shaped and nurtured to what has now become an important Classic Rock band of enviable Rock influence.

* Since their 1976 debut album, Dreamboat Annie, Heart has seen eight of their thirteen studio albums achieve platinum status.

* Fanatic was produced by Grammy and Juno Award winner Ben Mink; who also produced Heart’s last studio album, 2010’s Red Velvet Car.

KRAMPUS – Debut First Official Music Video For ‘KRONOS’ HERITAGE’

Their first full-length effort, Survival Of The Fittest, has been produced by KRAMPUS’ charismatic frontman Filippo Gianotti himself at Udine’s legendary Blackmirror Studios and is set for release in late August 2012. Shortly after the release, KRAMPUS will embark on their first extensive European tour, joining Wintersun and Korpiklaani on 2012’s edition of the hugely successful Heidenfest tour.

KRAMPUS’ Declaration:

Krampus, the winter demon, has survived the repression of the modern gods. Born from shame for the mankind decay, under the cold breeze in the shades of the Alps, we join him in his dealing out of the fallible human’s just deserts. Like roots breaking concrete, we shake minds dulled by the weakness of present society. We fight fearlessly for our beliefs, aiming to give back at least some of what has been taken from mother nature. We kindle the embers hidden inside each and every one of you, choked by the lies of nations: Embers of Honour, Pride, Traditions, and Freedom.

What frontman Filippo says about the song:

“Kronos’ heritage Is a question: what are we going to leave to our children if we destroy their world? Too many times we forget that the injuries of this planet will bleed over our children.

KRAMPUS – Release Album Trailer, New Single and New Website

Italian modern folk metal outfit KRAMPUS have just launched a brand new homepage (www.krampusfolk.com), released a brand new trailer for their upcoming album Survival of the Fittest, AND released their first single, “Kronos’ Heritage”.

The Udine, Italy based Modern Folk Metal band KRAMPUS can safely be regarded as the most promising and fast-rising star in their genre, all the while further expanding the boundaries of Folk Metal as we know it. With no less than 8 band members and an extensive use of traditional folk instruments, they invite to draw comparisons to the very elite of bands that devote themselves to bringing together old and new.

KRAMPUS are confirmed to play METALCAMP in August as well as the so-called HEIDENFEST tour throughout Europe in October/November alongside WINTERSUN, KORPIKLAANI, VARG and TROLLFEST.

Wanna See My Barq’s ‘Metal Bites’ Cassette? It’s Really Cool…

That’s it at the top! That’s my cool Barq’s Metal Bites cassette tape! Plus it’s still sealed with its original plastic wrap! I bought this cool cassette for 50 cents (U.S.) at a thrift store about a year ago. I haven’t opened it cause I listen to cassettes rather infrequently. Barq’s is a brand of root beer, owned by the Coca-Cola Company.

I’ve recently seen this Barq’s Metal Bites cassette on ebay with a “buy it now” price of $10 (U.S.) and that doesn’t include shipping of $2.75. Eventually I’ll open this cassette and play it. In the meantime, it’s part of my Metal collection.

Barq’s Metal Bites mystery: I’m not certain if this cassette was ever sold in record stores. I would guess that this cassette was used as a promotion/giveaway; preferably in a grocery store. Who knows?

I already have the songs that are on this cassette on CD (with the exception of the live version of Balls To The Wall by ACCEPT. Overall, the compilation of songs on this cassette are not too shabby. Check out the track listing and other photos below:
