KYLESA – Rarities Collection, FROM THE VAULTS, VOL. 1, Set For Nov. 20th Release Via Season Of Mist

TWELVE-SONG RELEASE FEATURES ONE NEW SONG, PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED AND ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF SONGS FROM BAND’S CATALOGUE

______________________________

Kylesa is set to release From The Vaults, Vol. 1,  a twelve-song collection featuring unreleased, new and alternate versions of songs spanning their catalogue including one entirely new song (“End Truth”) as well as the band’s legendary cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” on Nov. 20 (Nov. 16 in Europe).

“This project has been a labor of love,” explained guitarist/singer/producer Phillip Cope. “We have spent over a year going through old songs, covers, etc. and collected those we felt went well together; remixing and finishing them up. We didn’t want to release something just thrown together so we put a lot of thought and time into it. I am really happy about how this came together. I think it is a good representation of Kylesa’s different styles from early on to present day.

The Savannah-based band recently wrapped up an European tour, which included stops at the Wacken Open Air and Area 4 Festivals,  and will enter the studio to begin work on a new album for 2013. Kylesa’s most recent release, 2010’s Spiral Shadow, was revered by fans and critics alike as a “record that trashes everything you might expect from the genre” (Pitchfork) and is “as sweaty as a south Georgia summer” (Spin).  Singer/guitarist Laura Pleasants was recently featured on the cover of Decibel Magazine’s inaugural Women in Metal issue.

Black Flag, the new full-length from Hungary’s most prevalent Metal act, EKTOMORF, will see North American release on September 25th through their trusted label home, AFM Records. Following their first acoustic album, simply titled The Acoustic, earlier this year, on Black Flag EKTOMORF have returned to their usual destructive ways, once again implementing their groove-laden style their fans have come to expect, yet with more straightforward aggression than they have shown in years.

The band’s massive tenth studio full-length was recorded and produced in Antfarm Studios with Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Mnemic, Hatesphere) and comes loaded and cocked with nearly fifty minutes of point-blank brutality comprised of twelve original tracks and a cover of the Foo Fighters hit “The Pretender!” The cover art was created by Tim Eckhorst, who has painted the portraits of all bands who have headlined the massive Wacken festival in recent years.

EKTOMORF have released the second track from Black Flag via AFM Records’ YouTube page. Check out the hateful surge of “Unscarred” below!

Black Flag Track Listing:

01. War Is My Way

02. Unscarred

03. The Cross

04. Cut It Out

05. Black Flag

06. Private Hell

07. 12 Angels

08. Enemy

09. Fuck Your God

10. Never Surrender

11. Sick Love

12. Feel Like This

13. Kill It

14. The Pretender (Foo Fighters Cover)

Having toured Europe supporting major international acts including Pro-Pain, Fear Factory and more; after performing at some of the biggest European Metal festivals including Wacken Open Air, With Full Force and Summer Breeze throughout their career, EKTOMORF will continue the tradition with more shows and tours in the coming months in support of Black Flag.
