Following the recent, previously released single, entitled “Wings of Twilight”, featuring a guest performance of AD INFINITUM singer Melissa Bonny, Finland’s melodic metal frontrunners ARION are now sharing their brand new and powerful track “Wildfire”!
After skyrocketing out of nowhere to the public eye as teenagers with the Finnish Eurovision qualification program UMK and now three critically acclaimed studio albums under their belt, ARION seem to be gearing up for a new full-length, to be released in the hopefully not so distant future.
Wildfire” was written by ARION guitarist Iivo Kaipainen, and was produced by Matias Kupiainen (Stratovarius). Listen to the song, out now on all digital providers at: https://arion.bfan.link/wildfire
Says livo about the new track: “Wildfire, the first song I wrote for the new album is also one of my favorites from the new album. The frighteningly infectious main riff with an equally catchy chorus, which is what everybody listening to the song points out, are the building blocks for a song that’s as metal as metal can be. Wildfire made its live debut at the world-renowned 70,000 tons of metal cruise proving to be exactly the most fun and the most insane live song we can think of!”
The band’s latest video for “Wings of Twilight” is streaming HERE:
Since their formation in 2011, ARION stood out due to their incredible musicianship and songwriting craft. After their headstart, they released three studio albums which gained impressive streaming numbers and toured with bands like Dream Theater, Gloryhammer, Battle Beast and Sonata Arctica to name just a few. Their latest single releases mark a new chapter in the exciting story of ARION; so better watch out for more news and album details to follow soon!
Finnish industrial flavored metal act Kaos Krew has released their sixth full length album Blackout, on December 15th 2023.
Kaos Krew is a musical project from Finland that mixes hard rock and metal with influences from the industrial scene. The band is basically a one-man project by Ulf Skog.
The studio work is mainly done by Ulf Skog who also writes all the songs. A great deal of guest musicians has appeared both live and on the records.
“The album as such is not a concept album but consists of songs written during the period of possible energy crisis, therefor the title ‘Blackout’.” Ulf Skog comments on the album.
MOON SHOT plays true twenty-first century rock ‘n’ roll. So even at the threat of cliché, they describe it like it is: genuine rock music from the heart built on all the melodic loudness they grew up with. And this quartet is the right band to bring this honest-to-rock blast of music. These are no fresh-from-the-bud boys – they’ve already had careers hefty enough to define a person with the bands Children Of Bodom, Disco Ensemble, and Lapko.
MOON SHOT’s upcoming second album is preceded with their latest single entitled, “Yes!.” It rushes at you with a chorus that embraces so tight that it’s hard to see if it’s loving you or strangling you (or a bit of both). The video was shot in August 2023 in Helsinki by Sami Joensuu.
As chief composer, guitarist and producer Jussi Ylikoski notes, “The song appears easygoing at first but when you look at it closer, you see that it’s special both musically and lyrically.”
Watch MOON SHOT’s “Yes!” video HERE. The track is also available on all streaming platforms.
“People may also hear the chorus as something overly positive – and that’s fine,” vocalist and lyricist Ville Malja adds, “But I see it as a fight song. There’s a lot of things that aren’t ok in the world and YES we can do something about it.”
In a sense, this song captures the essence of MOON SHOT’s different sides: positive aggression with a vulnerable message that you want to join in with. Time to let this band into your life with a blast aimed right at the heart.
Further info on the band’s upcoming new full-length, set for release via Reaper Entertainment, will be revealed in the weeks to come.

releases their long-awaited second album ”Arctic Atlas” today 12th of May.
After a few years of composing and producing, “Arctic Atlas” is finally available as a physical album or digital version. Averlanche is more than ready to introduce themselves as a newborn Symphonic Metal band from Finland with modern sounds and a completely new style.
The album will be released through JVR MUSIC GROUP record label. INVERSE RECORDS handles the digital promotion worldwide.
Arctic Atlas is an interesting album full of surprises. It starts in the freezing cold and then jumps straight into a burning theater. It is something you never expected from Averlanche.
Averlanche’s debut album “Life’s Phenomonen” was produced, recorded & mixed by the famous Finnish producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, best known for collaborating with bands like HIM, Sentenced, Apocalyptica and others. After a long collaboration, this time the band’s manager Joonas Rinne was chosen to be the producer. The album was recorded in different sessions during 2022-2023.
“Working with Averlanche has been an interesting journey through time. The album was being prepared for about a year, from the demo sessions to arrangement and production. The album was fun to mix and the collaboration with the band went well. Mika Jussila took care of the mastering process and a few days ago we received the finished product from Finnvox. The entire production team and the band are very satisfied with the results. I hope the listeners will take the album as their own from the first time listening.” – Joonas Rinne, producer

The recording process of ”Arctic Atlas” was a very different experience from recording the debut album. This album was recorded in different sessions and every session had its unique style.
“I enjoyed the recording process and I think we have all grown a lot during this past year. My favorite song on the album has been changing a lot. It really depends on my mood. At the moment I would say ”Island Across”! I love the atmosphere it creates. I would like to thank you so much for your patience and your support. Soon it will be rewarded. We hope to see you at the upcoming shows!” – Rebecca Spörl, vocals
Most of the songs on the album had already been composed before the release of debut album “Life’s Phenomenon”.
“The oldest songs of the album, ”In The Theater of Fire” and ”She & the Dark Winter”, we have already been playing live for a while. I’m We put a lot of time and effort into the production phase of our songs and tested and discussed many different possible arrangements to find the best versions. This time we did the recordings in multiple sessions in Oulu, instead of all at once like last time. This way we had more time to work on the details.” – Antti Kopra, keyboards

Finnish groove-thrash metal group Falling From Grace will release their second studio album, “At The Edge”, later in 2023 via Inverse Records. The first single and music video, ‘The Abyss’, is released today. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/Id8q-7rRn1Y
The band comments: “The Abyss has gotten its inspiration from sleep paralysis that many have told to feel a dark presence with them. You can feel that there is something in there, but you can’t see it physically. Is this only a trick of the mind, or is there something evil and dark in there with us when we can only lie down and not move at all?”
Falling From Grace – The Abyss (single 2023) Single cover by Sami Leppäaho Composed by Timi Tonteri, Atte Väisänen, Toni Jokelainen & Valtteri Honko. Lyrics by Niki Tonteri
Falling From Grace is a groove-thrash metal band from Finland, formed in 2013. Their influences come from genres like groove metal, thrash metal, death metal, metalcore, etc. As such, their music strikes the hearts of many metalheads. This five-man band always plays their gigs with 110% attitude, leaving no one in the crowd cold. Falling From Grace has released: the EP “Shadows of the Past” (2014), singles “Poseur” (2016), “Reflection” (2020), “Break Your Neck” (2020), “In The Lies Where We Stand” (2021) and an album “Shattered” (2021). FallingFrom Grace are writing a new album titled “At The Edge” that they plan to release around the end of 2023.
“The album “A Matter of Time” shows where Alase is heading towards musically. We are already working on new music and this album leads the way to our new paths.
Compared to our debut album Vastaus, A Matter of Time is more versatile and progressive. In a way it is more mature but we also took more musical risks with its material. We even threw in a couple of tracks that go outside the genre of metal music but they still sound like Alase. Those songs also contain more electronic sounds which is a new thing for us.
Softer parts on the album are very soft but the heavier parts at their heaviest get really crushing and technical. When it comes to musicianship, this album contains the most demanding stuff that we have so far done.
Besides five previously unheard tracks, the album contains four tracks that were released as singles and music videos. Those songs represent the album pretty well but don’t tell the whole story. If you like bands Katatonia, Haken, VOLA and Sleep Token, this album might work for you!”
Valo is the third and final pre-album single from the forthcoming new VORNA album Aamunkoi, and now available on all digital platforms.
“When Arttu (Järvisalo, Lead Guitar) brought the first instrumental demo of this song to the table, and I started to work on the lyrics and vocal arrangements, my initial thoughts were that this sounds like a love song. And that’s not really my expertise. The end result is something that fits into the aforementioned category as well, but it can also be interpreted from a more universal perspective. We may not have the power to take anyone’s pain away or save them, but what we can do, is to try and make each other’s journeys more bearable. That’s what “Valo” (The Light) is all about.”
The music of VORNA, from Tampere, is as melancholic as sublimely gloomy. No wonder that the group has already toured or played shows with Insomnium, Wintersun, Kalmah, Thyrfing and Whispered. The sextet from Finland, active since 2008, enters with a majestic metal sound that also features symphonic and folk accents.
The band’s fourth album stands out for its self-evident, breathing musicality. The lyrics are presented again in the Finnish native language of the musicians and support the mythical character of the tracks. The album title could hardly be more aptly chosen. “Aamunkoi” can be translated as “Aurora”. In literature, this means “The Dawn”. In the far north, where VORNA come from, this is also the name for the phenomenon of the polar lights. In both interpretations darkness and grace play a role. Astonishment and fear are also to be associated. Not everything can be grasped and cleary understood. Much remains in the indefinite and in the intermediate tones. This closes the circle to the melancholic metal of the six Finns and their nature-loving understanding of art.
In comparison with the debut “Ajastaika” (2013), the second album from 2015, “Ei valo minua seuraa”, and the debut on LIFEFORCE RECORDS, “Sateet palata saavat” (2019), VORNA surpass themselves on “Aamunkoi”. All songs sound immensely multifaceted, accentuated and above all atmospheric.
The gloomy emotionality and fine melody lines of the band’s fourth album pull in their spell. The contrasting play between forward attacks and fragile atmosphere, which reaches deep, has lasting effects and impresses.
“Life is finite, unpredictable, and unfair. The album’s main theme is survival in the uncertain world where the lucky ones who get to witness a new day have a chance to strive for a better future – when they still can. Music-wise Aamunkoi is Vorna’s most melodic work to date and we have once again broadened our musical horizon towards new territories on every instrument. “

Guitarist June Stacy comments: “Writing and recording the EP was a little bit troublesome and slow because of the covid. We recorded the demos and then the EP versions of the songs little by little when ever we could. Then over a year ago when it was already mixed and mastered Izzy (our guitar player) decided to pursue other things in life and quit the band. We didn’t wanna release anything or shoot music videos before we found someone to replace him. So it took another half a year to find Vasco. But finally here it is: ’Resolute’. The EP that updates the sound of Judith Alice for 2023! Enjoy”
BIOGRAPHY: Judith Alice was formed in Helsinki, Finland by old friends June Stacy and Stan Ford (Skeeter Hazy) in 2016. The nowadays five piece band has been creating a reputation as a wild live performer and a party maker since. The first single, “I Only Go Out When It’s Dark” was released in 2017. The second single “Drug Festival” was released in December 2018 and as a third single they recorded a cover for an old danish hit “I WIll Stay”, it was released January 2020. Yeah, the one Hurriganes made famous in Finland back in the day. Recordings of the first album began in 2017, and after all the setbacks and struggle it was finally released on August 13th 2020. When the world closed because of the pandemic, Judith Alice used the time to write and record new music! 2023 starts with a brand new single/video ”Tonite’s Alright (feat. Diison)” followed by an EP called ”Resolute”!

All it takes is one 80’s influenced singer from Florida to make a melancholic Finnish metal band to sound like non-Finnish in a very haunting and beautiful way. The debut single of Violet Sin is definitely modern and metal in terms of production but at the same time the song runs through the past decades of music. There’s 00’s metalcore, low tuned guitars, retro synths and a big melodic chorus. In addition no click tracks were used in the recordings to get the live feel that is needed in today’s metal.
Violet Sin is the brain child of Veli-Matti Kananen (Kalmah) and Jon Pyres (Lycanthro, Threads of Fate). Aiming to create melancholic metal that incorporates various, different musical elements, the duo began writing material during late 2016. Eventually enlisting the talents of Jimi Myohanen (Se, Josta Ei Puhuta / Kaera / Swansong / Sadistik Forest) and Ari Levola(RASA) and thus obtaining a full lineup, the group set out to finally record what would become their first EP during the late months of 2022, to be released in 2023 under Inverse Records.
Finnish traditional heavy metal / doom metal band WIZARDS OF HAZARDS releases their second album SUPERNATURAL today February 17th 2023. The album is available on music services and as CD.
WIZARDS OF HAZARDS are a heavy metal band from Middle Finland. Sharing the same interest for vintage instruments and heavy music composing, they are doing their own music entirely through full analog signal chain. Their musical influences come from the recordings of the analog aeons, mostly 70’s and 80’s heavy metal, and their lyrics are inspired by bygone times, supernatural phenomenons and old tales & beliefs. After decades of jamming and performing as a trio, they shifted their shapes into a four piece and changed their name to WIZARDS OF HAZARDS.
A debut album END OF TIME came out in 2020. Album consists of doomish, heavy riffed songs from the band’s early years, and three of those were pre-released on the BLIND LEADS THE BLIND EP on that same year – both releases came via Inverse Records. Recordings were made on RTM SM900 magnetic tape within two sessions in january and june 2020 under the brilliant guidance of analog wizard Anssi Kippo at Astia-studios, Lappeenranta Finland.
The BLACK WIZARD EP was released on december 2021 by Inverse Records, and it was a hats off to their roots with ep given the band’s former name. Those three, very old songs came from the same session at the Astia-studio november 2021 as all the songs of the second album SUPERNATURAL. Although most of the songs of their second long play were made long ago, the lyrics of the album are unfortunately valid and sadly true today also. The cover art presents stunning sculptures of Vilde Hage Aune, and all the songs were recorded again on magnetic tapes with help of Mr. Kippo in that doomy & riff-based, vintage sounding way of the WIZARDS OF HAZARDS.

Finnish progressive metal band Sum of Seven released a new single and music video ”The Monster…The King’. The track is released in collaboration with Inverse Records.
Ari Lempinen comments: “In the song The Monster…The King we wanted to give more room to the instruments to tell the story supporting the vocals. The song flows with tasty solos and tight riffs in synergy with Marko’s vocals and dances between succulent blasting and a relaxing respite. The music reflects the atmosphere of the lyrics, which dive deep into a dreamlike space where the monsters and kings within us are in juxtaposition. The music video features the skilled breakdancer Jose Granados aka Bboy Kalaco who interprets the mood and the message of the song with his skillful moves.“

Finnish metal band Koitos released a single “Tämä Maa” (eng. “This earth”), which is the second release from the upcoming debut album. First single “Ilman kurssia” was released in October.
“As a composition, the song is dark and inconsolable so the apocalyptic theme for the lyrics ran through my mind right from the moment the song was created. Unfortunately the topic is constantly relevant“, describes vocalist Matti Hiitti.
Composition: Hannu Nieminen Lyrics: Matti Hiitti
In addition to the composition and lyrics, the song was recorded and produced entirely by the band itself. In addition, the band’s bassist edited the music video and worked as a video shooting assistant. The song was mixed and mastered by Rami Nykänen, who has previously worked with bands like One Morning Left and Balance Breach.
Finnish melancholic melodic death metal band Dead Serenity has released a second single from their upcoming debut album. The song Evanecent is drawing inspiration from the presence of Death and the disintegration of close relationships. It’s a bittersweet expression of a search for meaning in life from which all light has been drained. Perfect for cold, dark nights when contemplating life, death and lost love.
Dead Serenity is a 5-piece founded in 2018. On their music the band focuses on strong melodies. On lyrics they let the full scale of human emotions and behavior carry the music from an atmosphere to another – from sensibility to ecstasy and from distress to aggression.
The band released their debut EP “Beginnings” in 2020 and the first full length “When Worlds Turn To Gray” follows early 2023.
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dead Serenity’s guitarist and main composer Toni Lind. Graphics and lyric video is created by Jonas Eriksson.

Finnish progressive metal band Sum of Seven released a new music video TheEnemy. Famous Finnish model, dancer & singer Joalin Loukamaa, known from global Pop band Now United is featured on the video. The track is released in collaboration with Inverse Records.
“We wanted to create a video that has a nice balance of story and the band playing. Originally we planned this to be purely the band playing the song but the place we found for the shoot inspired us to add a story element. Joalin Loukamaa did an excellent job in our last video and we asked if she would join the project. Fortunately she said yes and did an amazing job again. We got Saku Suominen from Sakuvisuals to direct and work his magic behind the camera and we had an absolute blast filming this. We feel that the atmosphere of the video and the song complement each other in just the right way and the finished product definitely makes us proud.
The Enemy is a song that starts out fast and aggressive and really carries that momentum from start to finish. It is one of the heaviest songs that we have made so far. When that intro explodes you know that we’re going somewhere fast. But at the same time when the vocal melodies kick in they steer the song into a different direction than you might expect, still carrying the aggressive momentum. That element of surprise is really what crowns the song for me. The Enemy has one of the best melodies we have written in my opinion and Marko’s delivery is just absolutely breathtaking. The lyrics talk about freedom, victory and survival, but they also have connotations to the questionable interpretations of those subjects. The message can be interpreted as positively empowering, but also as a disturbingly delusional illusion.”

Finnish 1996 founded melancholic metal band DENIGRATE has released their third full length album. Album titled “Blackguard” is doom metal flavored and maybe the darkest album so far by the band.
Since Denigrate was founded, the inevitable vibe of the band was to be dark, melancholy, tormented, observative.
The quantity of albums released is really not the thing in this band. From the first released album in 2003 to the latest 3rd one in 2022 called “Blackguard”, decades has changed and so has the band.
After no more than two albums released, after big-time local momentum with a finnish cover song, after mandatory hiatus, after some line-up changes, Denigrate 2022 is at it’s hardest core.
“Blackguard” takes you deep, slowly, irreparably. It’s the place where all beauty and evil befalls.
DENIGRATE: GalziKallio: Vocals Pekka Pyrhönen: Bass, Seppo Nummela: Guitar TipiToivanen: Drums
Dreamferno‘s new song is a reverence to songwriters’ close relative who passed away after a long struggle with terminal illness. Hagne is all about purity and virtue. One can only hope that everyone has at least one person in their life, who passes on the idea of good morals and kindness for the next generation.
The song starts off with a beautiful Disney -style intro wich transforms into a vibrant symphonic rock interpretation accompanied with vocals by Enni Rautiainen and Samuli Rimmi. Krzysztof Dobosiewicz is responsible for the exquisite arranging of the orchestrations. Composing and lyrics are from the pen of Samuli.
