THE LAST WARNING – Signs With Massacre Records

Austria’s Thrashers THE LAST WARNING have signed with Massacre Records!

The band was formed in 1999 and released their first demo “In Case Of Fire” in 2003. They signed with Ton 4 Records a year later, recorded their debut “Face 2 Face” and played numerous shows and festivals. Their second album “Chainbreaker” followed in 2006 and their touring extended to Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, sharing the stage with bands such as Maroon, Deadsoil and Machine Made God.

One of the band’s milestones happened in the summer of 2007 when they were invited to Indonesia for a headliner tour. They played in Bali, Java and Sumatra and performed as headliner on the main stage at the Soundrenaline Festival in Padang, Sumatra, in front of more than 20.000 people! They returned to Indonesia in 2008 and played gigs in front 25.000 people in Pekanbaru and 45.000 people in Medan.

Their latest album “Elegance Of Bloodiness” was released in October 2009 via 7Hard Records.

THE LAST WARNING finished their upcoming album in December 2012. It was recorded at the Music Factory/Prophecy Studios with producer R.D. Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Devil’s Train) and sound engineer Christian Schmid.

Vocalist Hans-Jürgen Moitzi commented:
“Working with Lia and Christian was awesome! Lia kicked our asses to get the best out of the band. The new album is a real thrash monster! We are also very proud to be part of the Massacre Records family now. Massacre Records is the perfect label for our upcoming album!”

THE LAST WARNING’s new album is expected to be released in spring 2013 via Massacre Records!

Performing the band’s most famous and influential album from 1974 ‘Desolation Boulevard’ live, SWEET’s ‘Desolation Boulevard Revisited’ recaptures the album in concert with all of the raw energy that can only come from a live performance.

Originally titled ‘Sweet Fanny Adams’ in the UK, the 1974 US release of the album, re-titled ‘Desolation Boulevard’, was a turning point for the band featuring, for the first time, more of a hard rock sound. The album yielded classic hits such as ‘Ballroom Blitz’, ‘Fox On The Run’ and ‘The Six Teens’, catapulting the band to international stardom!

Says original member Andy Scott: “SWEET’s ‘Desolation Boulevard’ album was groundbreaking back in 1974 and proved to be a major influence on soon to be famous rock bands such as Kiss, Motley Crue, Def Leppard and many more. The album was a tightly produced collection of Power Pop Heavy Rock Radio Friendly tunes that still sound great today. This was the album that accelerated SWEET into a Major Headlining Touring Band in the ’70s, a testament of anyone who saw the band  ‘live’. Several of the songs from the album have been covered by other artists which pays true homage to a great band. Now in 2013 we have ‘Desolation Boulevard Revisited’. A ‘live’ album release, almost 40 years on from the original but sounding as fresh as the day the songs were conceived. This is a ‘must’ for SWEET fans everywhere!”

HELLOWEEN – Straight Out Of Hell, the fourteenth studio album from HELLOWEEN, will be released on January 18th in Europe and on January 22nd in North America. All HELLOWEEN fans surely can agree, that the days leading up to the release of Straight Out Of Hell are exciting times for certain!

HELLOWEEN are currently posting a track-by-track commentary, on their facebook page, each day leading up to the release of this highly anticipated album! (Check out their facebook link at the bottom of this post). I’m probably not alone in stating: the album cover artwork for Straight Out Of Hell is absolutely kick-ass! That’s Metal! Whoa!

Martin Häusler created the front cover for Straight Out Of Hell; he also created the artwork for 7 Sinners (2010) and Gambling With The Devil (2007) as well.

As pioneers of Power Metal and widely accepted as top-tier Metal legends, HELLOWEEN’s family tree boasts both Kai Hansen (founding member) and Michael Kiske; their vocals and multi-instrumental contributions are revered among the Metal community. In my Metal opinion, HELLOWEEN can truly be labeled as a national treasure of Germany. Metal be thy name.
