ANTHRAX – To Release “ANTHEMS” EP and Announce Stand-In Guitarist

2013-01-18 – ANTHRAX are set to release a special edition of their 11th studio album Worship Music through Nuclear Blast on March 22nd, 2013.

ANTHRAX, one of Heavy Metal”s all-time great acts who, along with SLAYER, METALLICA and MEGADETH –The Big Four – are credited with co-founding the Thrash genre, return with a special edition of Worship Music. The “Special Edition” includes a bonus “Anthems” disc which includes 6 covers, “Anthem” (RUSH cover), “Jailbreak” (THIN LIZZY), “TNT” (AC/DC), “Big Eyes” (CHEAP TRICK), “Smokin” (BOSTON) and “Keep On Runnin” (JOURNEY) as well as a remix of the track “Crawl”. “Worship Music” was the bands first release in seven years and marked the return of singer Joey Belladonna, an essential part of ANTHRAX”s line-up from 1985 to 1992.

The band who picked up the highly prestigious “Metal Guru” award at the Classic Rock Awards last November will be returning to the live circuit this year with an appearance at the annual Bloodstock Open Air festival on Sunday 11th August 2013. SHADOWS FALL guitarist Jon Donais will temporarily fill in for the departed Rob Caggiano when the band plays previously announced dates in India, Australia and North America.

REBELLION – When you think of German Metal, dozens of legendary bands come to mind, huh? Scorpions, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Warlock, DORO, Primal Fear, EDGUY,  Grave Digger, Michael Schenker, Blind Guardian, Unisonic, Sinner, U.D.O., ACCEPT, Rammstein, JORN, Masterplan, Kreator, Sodom, Iron Savior, Running Wild, RAGE, Tankard, Vanden Plas; the list goes on and on!

I suppose my Metal point is that Germany is downright synonymous with: METAL. Instead, make that: Metal Excellence. REBELLION have carved out their very own chapter(s) in the history of German Metal (and worldwide Metal for that matter); chapters that screams out the Metal (musical) competence of such a genuine Metal band. Regardless of lineup changes, REBELLION seems to live by their own name, rebelling against the Metal status quo and/or follow-the-leader mentality.

REBELLION is a German Metal band that in my Metal opinion, have earned both their Metal Warrior and legendary Metal status. I’m talking about a Metal band here that plays True Metal to the ultra muscular core. REBELLION lets their Metal do the talking. Like many of their German Metal peer bands, REBELLION have always maintained a consistent output of quality albums and have recruited an untold number of loyal fans worldwide; without the mainstream acceptance from the auto-tuned infested/commercial charts of the U.S. market. Thank the Metal Gods for that.

The overall driving Metal power from Arminius: Furor Teutonicus (Massacre Records) is phenomenal to my ears and senses! I highly recommended this new REBELLION album to ALL Metal fans of any Metal genre. Yes, Arminius: Furor Teutonicus is that powerful of an album. Metal be thy name.

CORONATUS – Writing New Album; Carmen R. Lorch Returns As Soprano Voice

CORONATUS are currently writing new material for their upcoming album!

They plan to enter the studio in May/June 2013.

Carmen R. Lorch will join the band on the upcoming album!

Carmen was the soprano voice of CORONATUS from 2004 until 2010.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE – Premiere New Song/Video On Pitchfork.TV

Hoax The System, the first track from CORRECTIONS HOUSE — the new collective featuring Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) — has debuted on Pitchfork.TV. The video, created by Mortichrome Productions, can be seen HERE.

As previously announced, the band will kick off a stretch of rare live shows on January 21, 2013 in Brooklyn, New York. Shows will feature each of the four members doing solo sets of spoken word, acoustic and experimental music with an end times collaboration as CORRECTIONS HOUSE to close out the night. Full dates are below.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE recorded one  additional track, Grin With A Purpose, that will be released with Hoax The System as a limited edition 7” and will be out on Parker and Lamont’s own label, War Crime Recordings, soon. Further details to be revealed soon.
