EPHEMEROS – Portland Funeral Doom Ensemble Joins Seventh Rule Recordings

Band To Spread Their Live Decay Next Month

Portland, Oregon Funeral Doom ensemble EPHEMEROS is pleased to announce their unholy union with Seventh Rule Recordings for the impending unleashing of their debut full-length, All Hail Corrosion.

Formed in 2010, EPHEMEROS features members of Nux Vomica, Graves At Sea, Elitist, and Bastard Feast. Their All Hail Corrosion offering was tracked and mixed by Fester (Atriarch, Stoneburner) at Haywire Studios, mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, From Ashes Rise, Nails) at Audiosiege Engineering and offers up three diseased tracks in forty dismal minutes. Slow, depressive harmonies are punctuated by growled and chanted vocal tirades centered around the decay of humanity. Both physically and emotionally traumatic, EPHEMEROS will appeal to the black-souled fans of Mournful Congregation, Loss, and Asunder.

All Hail Corrosion will be released on CD and digitally via Seventh Rule on August 20, 2013 and on vinyl by Parasitic Records. In the meantime, West Coast gloom enthusiasts can experience the band’s sonic decay live next month, with more dates moving Eastward in the Fall.

ACHERON – Current Band News, New Album & Festival Details

Black Death Metal Thrash demons ACHERON have completed the recording process for their upcoming Listenable Records release, Kult Des Hasses.The album is now set to enter the mixing and mastering phase.

ACHERON will be doing a mini-tour with INCANTATION in late July. The band has enlisted DISMEMBERMENT guitarist Jacob Shively to fill the slot of second guitarist. When asked if Shively would be their new permanent second guitarist, ACHERON founder Vincent Crowley stated:

“Jacob is a talented guitarist and fan of the band. His group DISMEMBERMENT opened for ACHERON a few times and I really liked them. That is why I asked him about filling in. But we are taking baby steps. We’ve learned from past experiences not to just hire someone right away. For now he is playing with us for all upcoming live shows. We’ll just have to see if it progresses into something more. But we are indeed open to the idea if the dedication and chemistry is there.”

SIOUX – From the fine city of Portland, Oregon comes a really, really cool Metal/Heavy Rock band that recently caught my Metal attention and their named SIOUX. This Metal trio have just released their S/T EP on May 10th, 2013. I have become so impressed with this band’s sound and songs on this EP that I hereby make this Metal declaration:

A (hopeful) majority of Sludge, Stoner, Doom and underground Metal fans will take an immediate liking to SIOUX and their muscular, badass heavy songs. There are 4 songs on their S/T EP and ALL 4 are legitimate listens that need to be heard and passed along throughout the Metal (world) community. Fans of Mastodon, WINO, Saint Vitus, Crowbar and Motörhead should all hear some influence within the song structures, vocals and musicianship of SIOUX.

Kirk Evans (vocals, guitar, bass) sounds like a giant atop the mountain peek, looking down upon his Metal followers who are chanting: SIOUX! SIOUX! SIOUX! GYPSYHAWK – Video For “Silver Queen” Available! Band On Tour Now With Valient Thorr!

That video was directed by Farron Loathing for Mortichrome Films with producer Brian Sowell, and editor/visual FX artist Josh Ethier.
