5 Out Of 5 METAL Fists!

Metalfistredbckgrndsmall5

WITCH CROSS – With two original band members (guitarist/songwriter Mike Koch, bassist Jan Normark), the legendary True Metal attack of WITCH CROSS has returned for their sophomore studio album: Axe To Grind (Hells Headbangers). These Danish Metal warriors indeed have returned! Fans of WITCH CROSS and Traditional Metal most likely never thought a follow-up to 1984’s (debut) Fit For Fight would ever come to pass; I was certainly one of them! Now I’m forever psyched-out… Metal be thy name.

Once news broke of a WITCH CROSS reunion, with live gigs and Festival performances taking flight in Europe these last two years, the momentum of this dynamic Metal band metamorphosed into a flaming Metal juggernaut! Axe To Grind has proven to my Metal soul and senses that it’s truly a spectacular return to Metal prominence for WITCH CROSS; with the songwriting and musicianship capturing the spirit, sound, energy and total atmosphere of what this grand band was and always shall be about.

Below, Check Out The Official Video For Demon In The Mirror:

The addition of new vocalist Kevin Moore has proven to be synonymous with capturing lightning in a bottle; his experience, songwriting and frontman presence has glistened on Axe To Grind; solidifying his place in both WITCH CROSS and Metal history. Mike Koch and Kevin Moore combined to write the majority of Axe To Grind and their skillful success at combining this bands vibes of the past with today’s Metal relevancy is jaw-dropping commendable!

Axe To Grind is a Metal album you absolutely cannot overlook in 2013! WITCH CROSS have delivered and the totality of Metal splendor explodes from such mega-memorable tracks as: Demon In The Mirror, Ride With The Wind, Bird Of Prey and Metal Nation (Raise Your Hands)Axe To Grind is one of those rare Metal albums that flows together so brilliantly; I feel as if I’m discovering a Metal gem for the very first time with each thorough listen!

The double axe attack fury of Mike Koch and Paul Martin are both melodic and blazing, leaving their numerous riffs, leads and solos within my subconscious long after I’ve listened to Axe To Grind. Incredible. The vocals of Kevin Moore have been ingrained into my subconscious as well; his standout performance on Axe To Grind is absolute.

Jan Normark on bass and Lars Bjornstad on drums are a consummate rhythm section that provides the old school boom and thundercracks, further solidifying what is undeniably one of the greatest comebacks in Heavy Metal history that’s forever known as WITCH CROSS.

CHICAGO, IL (DLSP) – BEAUTY IN THE SUFFERING, the newly launched electro-metal studio project from producer, multi-instrumentalist, programmer, and vocalist Dietrich Thrall (MARAZENE), are officially in mix mode for music the band plans to introduce to fans starting this fall with the release of “THE CRAZIES”.

“The pace is quickening as we begin the jog towards fall – these are exciting times and I am extremely happy to be with you all in the here and now,” commented DieTrich on the bands official blog at http://www.BeautyInTheSuffering.com.

The band is currently locked away with SKINLAB guitarist PROVO PROVENZANO (RIKETS, EVERYBODY PANIC!) at Pirated Sounds Studio located in Oklahoma City, OK mixing the bands first three songs which will drop this fall. The band will immediately follow-up the digitally released singles by beginning production on a full length debut album with a release date targeted for sometime in 2014.

After spending the majority of 2012 locked away in a personal studio writing, arranging, and programming 40+ songs, producer DIETRICH THRALL began laying the foundation for a new musical manifesto. CHRIS EMERY of AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE was immediately recruited and quickly tracked 7 songs in a marathon 15 hour drum session while ANGEL BARTOLOTTA (DOPE, TEAM CYBERGEIST) contributed drums for ‘THE CRAZIES.’

Dietrich (pronounced Dee-Trick) is best known for his co-founding and co-visionary role in the Industrial-Metal band MARAZENE (later called MARAZENE MACHINE) based in Chicago.

From managing the band during its most active and successful national touring years (2006-2008), to co-producing the band’s critically hailed cover of MÖTLEY CRÜE’s “Live Wire” in 2011 as well as the band’s lone official full-length album (“MachiNation”, 2006), to writing fan-favorite tracks such as “Give”, to guiding the band’s philosophical and edgy lyrical approach (“AnTiThesis”, “Infidel Society”), to producing multiple videos for the band, Dietrich’s contributions and influence are heavily noted.

Spanish Hard Rock bruisers ’77 have debuted the first track off their upcoming third full-length album, Maximum Rock n’ Roll. The song, entitled Down and Dirty, is streaming now:

’77 had the following to say regarding Maximum Rock n’ Roll:

“We obviously wrote music in typical ’77 fashion  such as ‘Down and Dirty’ or ‘Stay away from Water,’ tunes that will make you bang your head and raise your fist in the air while singing the choruses. Once more we recorded live in the studio, supervised by Fred Estby this time behind the mics and mixing desk, and we are really happy with the sound we got: no tricks, no FX; just Maximum Rock and Roll played as loud as possible.”

The band has also unveiled the cover art, designed by urban artist and AC/DC enthusiast Abdul Vas, for Maximum Rock n’ Roll:
