BEHEMOTH – ANNOUNCES NEW VIDEO, 12” AND SINGLE OFF “THE SATANIST”

A first new sign of life from Polish Black/Death Metal legends BEHEMOTH comes in form of the song Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel of their upcoming new record The Satanist.

BEHEMOTH – The album was produced by BEHEMOTH, Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy and Daniel Bergstrand in Hertz Studio. The Satanist was mixed by Matt Hyde (SLAYER) and mastered by Ted Jensen (METALLICA, AC/DC) at Sterling Sound. The cover art, which will also be revealed on December 4th, is a painting by renowned Russian painter and occultist, Denis Forkas. For the cover, Nergal’s own blood was included in the paint. Additional artwork was handled by Metastazis and Zbigniew Bielak.

The Grupa 13 produced video for Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel will also be released on December 4th. The teaser for the video can be seen now here:

The limited edition (2,000 copies: 1,000 white and 1,000 black, 180 gram vinyl) 12″ EP of Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel will be released on December 4, 2013 via BEHEMOTH /New Aeon Musick in Europe and will be released as a gatefold, with each copy hand numbered and signed by the band.

The 12″ EP can be pre-ordered via BEHEMOTH’s webstore (white vinyl and black vinyl) and will contain the first single off of The Satanist, plus two non-album tracks: If I Were Cain and a cover from Polish Post-Punk New Wave legendary band SIEKIERA – Ludzie Wschodu. Pre-orders will also be available at indiemerch.com/metalbladerecords and nuclearblast.de.

Furthermore, the first single off of The Satanist, Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel, will be available for purchase on iTunes starting early December. See below for release date by territory.

BLOODSTOCK has announced the addition of four more awesome Metal bands to the main stage bill for 2014, including CHILDREN OF BODOM!

Finland’s CHILDREN OF BODOM are set to play their only UK show of 2014 on BLOODSTOCK’s Ronnie James Dio main stage.  The band released their eighth studio album ‘Halo of Blood’ in June, when Metal Hammer magazine declared, “not only have CHILDREN OF BODOM produced a diverse collection of defiantly brilliant metallic tunes, but also their most accomplished achievement to date”. And if you’re looking for something extra special, the band have also recently made available a limited run of white or silver ‘Halo of Blood’ vinyl. (Los Angeles)  MANRAZE, the London-based rock band formed by iconic Def Leppard lead guitarist Phil Collen, along with punk rock forerunner Paul Cook (Sex Pistols) on drums and Simon Laffy, rockin’ bass player of Collen’s former glam-band, Girl, release their new EP, I Surrender available on iTunes today – November 12th.  On November 18th MANRAZE will be the featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio show, ROCKLINE with host Bob Coburn. Fans can tune in at 8:30 pm PT/11:30 pm ET. When not rocking together, the MANRAZE trio continues to keep busy.   Collen holds down his ‘day-job’ as lead guitarist with Def Leppard, heading with the band into a Dublin studio in February to write and record new music.  Collen is also working on his own blues album Delta Deep featuring soulstress Debbi Blackwell-Cook and is currently writing his auto-biography (Simon & Shuster/Atria) due out late 2014.  Cook has been working with Edwyn Collins first on his 2013 album release Understated, and then touring with Collins playing live shows. Currently, Cook is also playing in Subway Sect with Vic Goddard, touring and recording a new album.

Laffy has taken his talents into another creative lane having authored two novels in his ‘off-time’, Red Sunrise and Seed of Satan.  Both are historical fictions set around epic events of the 20th century and are in the process of being published.

It all started in 2004 when Phil Collen, after 20+ years as lead guitarist for Def Leppard, decided to express himself via another creative outlet.  After a fateful conversation with Simon Laffy and a next day chance meeting with Paul Cook MANRAZE was formed and finally released their debut album SURREAL through Universal Records in the summer of 2008 to rave reviews.

In August 2011 the trio re-enetered the studio and released punkfunkrootsrock which featured the single, “Over My Dead Body.”  In the spring of 2011 the MANRAZE single “I, Superbiker” was the theme song for the feature documentary of the same name. Directed by Mark Sloper, and released solely in the UK, the documentary is an in-depth expose’ into the merciless world of competitive speed bike racing and a look at the men who have dedicated their entire existence to this incredibly dangerous, adrenaline-fueled sport. MANRAZE’s single “Take On The World” featuring Debbi Blackwell-Cook was subsequently released in 2012 as a part of the soundtrack to Sloper’s sequel film “I, Superbiker: The Showdown” which chronicled the rise of 2011 British superbike racing champion Tommy Hill.

LORD MANTIS – Chicago Deviants Recording Profound Lore Debut

The deviant sect known to their cult fanbase as LORD MANTIS is currently decimating the innards of hometown Chicago-based Electrical Audio and Soma Studios, harnessing the astonishing madness that is to be the group’s third full-length release.

LORD MANTIS is working in conjunction with Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Samothrace), the engineer also responsible for recording the band’s previous two albums. While the newest composition has yet to bear a title, the third installment of the band’s torrid lineage will be their first release for the eclectic Profound Lore Records — following their 2009 Seventh Rule Recordings debut, Spawning The Nephilim, and subsequent 2012 full-length, Pervertor, released by Candlelight Records — and promises to be their most disturbing works yet, crawling forth from some of the darkest recesses of the human psyche.

Having revamped their lineup since their previous releases, LORD MANTIS has inducted Ken Sorceron into its ranks on guitar on this outing, the lineup rounded out by the three founding members, bassist/vocalist Charlie Fell, guitarist/vocalist Andrew Markuszewski and drummer Bill Bumgardner. Additionally, Indian guitarist/vocalist Dylan O’Toole will contribute additional vocals on several of the tracks.

Stated Fell this week in a brief recess between the punishing sessions on these new works: “This record is more serious and dark than our other stuff. We have all been through a lot of really fucked-up shit in recent years, and that’s all showing through in these sessions. We left behind anything slightly sci-fi, nightmarish or casually antagonistic, musically and visually; this time it’s all brutally realistic and ultimately much, much darker.”

More on the pending album will be available in the coming weeks as the sessions conclude, and LORD MANTIS prepares to pillage the populous with their new odes of torment with a Spring 2014 release date being confirmed.
