BLOODSTOCK has announced the addition of four more awesome Metal bands to the main stage bill for 2014, including CHILDREN OF BODOM!

Finland’s CHILDREN OF BODOM are set to play their only UK show of 2014 on BLOODSTOCK’s Ronnie James Dio main stage.  The band released their eighth studio album ‘Halo of Blood’ in June, when Metal Hammer magazine declared, “not only have CHILDREN OF BODOM produced a diverse collection of defiantly brilliant metallic tunes, but also their most accomplished achievement to date”. And if you’re looking for something extra special, the band have also recently made available a limited run of white or silver ‘Halo of Blood’ vinyl. 2012-06-22 – Finnish Metal superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM (also COB) have inked a worldwide recording deal (excl. Japan) with Nuclear Blast Records. The celebrated Metal label — who worked with the band over the early stages of its career — is proud to announce the renewed partnership with the world-famous band. COB, who kicked off a year-long celebration of its 15th anniversary with a successful North American tour alongside label mates ELUVEITIE, have a new studio album planned for release in 2013.

“We had a good, productive and long run with Spinefarm Records for fifteen years and now it’s simply just time for a change.“ said CHILDREN OF BODOM front man / guitarist Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho. “I’m absolutely stoked to start the new chapter of COB’s career with Nuclear Blast and look forward to working with them.”

Children Of Bodom will be supported by Metal legend Devin Townsend, (Devin Townsend Project) along with Obscura and Septicflesh. CHILDREN OF BODOM – Released on March 8th, 2011, via Spinefarm Records, Relentless reckless forever is the newest, brutal, crashin’, Thrashin’, Metalin’, rippin’, tearin’ and burnin’ album from Children Of Bodom. (I think I described this fabulous new album from COB quite well, in the opening sentence). Alexi Laiho is on fire once again with both his Extreme vocals and blistering guitar licks!

Relentless reckless forever is easily one of the BEST Metal albums 0f 2011 that I’ve been exposing my Metal ears to. Metal be thy name: if you haven’t picked up this new COB album just yet, what are you waiting for?

CHILDREN OF BODOM – On March 8, 2011, Children Of Bodom will be releasing their seventh studio album titled: Relentless Reckless Forever, on Spinefarm Records. This new and highly anticipated COB studio album was recorded at Petrax Studios in Finland, under the famed guidance of producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet).

Here are ten albums that did not make it to my Looking Back On 2009/Awards List, Top Ten Hard Rock Albums List or my Top 25 Heavy Metal Albums List. These are albums that I did buy, enjoyed, still listen to and reviewed on Metal Odyssey during 2009. They all deserve some Metal attention as well. There is no specific order of importance here, these are albums that I really want to celebrate – for their overall integrity in musicianship and songs. From the Progressive/Extreme Metal of Daath to the Hard Rock meets Heavy Metal of the ultra legendary Thin Lizzy, these 2009 albums blanket a few genres. It just wouldn’t feel right to me, not revisiting these albums one more time, in an end of year list. I put the header link below each album, so you can read the original review I posted during 2009.
