OPETH Release Official Animated Music Video For “§3” To Mark The One Year Anniversary Of The Last Will And Testament

Posted in Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on November 30, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

L-R:
Martín Méndez (bass), Waltteri Väyrynen (drums, percussion), Mikael Åkerfeldt (vocals, guitars), Joakim Svalberg (keys, backing vocals), Fredrik Åkesson (guitars, backing vocals)

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of The Last Will and Testament, OPETH is proud to unveil a brand-new animated video crafted to bring the album’s intricate story to life. Created by Absynthe Moon Media, the film offers a visual interpretation of the narrative that has intrigued fans since the record’s release in November 2024.

Watch the new ‘§3’ animated video here: https://youtu.be/Xx3sVo9jPX4

The animated music video for §3“returns to the central family story at the heart of the album. Set during the reading of a 1920s patriarch’s will, the video captures the shifting relationships and subtle tensions that shape the storyline, while allowing viewers to interpret the finer details for themselves.

Guided by Mikael Åkerfeldt’s story and concept, the visual narrative enhances the album’s core themes: identity fractured by lies, legacies built on instability, and the slow unraveling of those who once believed they understood their place within the family. The result is a stirring and immersive complement to one of OPETH’s most ambitious works.

“‘Engraved Under Skin’ is about someone who has crucified themselves with guilt and sorrow in their mind, shutting off their emotions and feelings from the world,” explains drummer Chris Wozniak. “We picked it for the second single off the album because we wanted to highlight our depth as a band.

VANISHMENT take pride in delivering a combination of DIY attitude, relentlessly heavy songs and a face-melting live experience that leaves an indelible mark upon all in its path. Consisting of members who participated in past bands like Himsa, Lair Of The Minotaur, Hell Promise, Trial, Earthen Grave and more. VANISHMENT brings a maturity and understanding, without losing its primal edge that mixed with their melodic values concocts an infectious combination, sure to appeal to a variety of metalheads young and old.

Finnish thrashers Krushor are set to release their debut EP Taste of Hatred on January 9th 2026 via Inverse Records. The second single “Taste of Hatred” is unleashed now and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/krushor-taste

The band comments:
“Taste of hatred is about a situation where a person takes a stand for someone who’s pushed ’em down long enough to make that person retaliate. What happens, when beaten and oppressed person decides to stand their ground and says they’ve had enough and gives back all they had to endure. What kind is this persons actual hatred if just a taste of it can turn tables and make the one who made them suffer have taste of their own medicine.”

BIOGRAPHY:

The band found its current identity through shared musical tastes, playing together, and a shared hobby. We are a group of people who enjoy making and playing music that works for all of us. A big part of this is that composing, writing lyrics, and editing songs is open to everyone. All songs and compositions are created by the whole group, not based on one person’s vision or goal.

Our influences definitely come from older metal, but that doesn’t matter, because mixing genres actually adds a lot to our music, there’s no one right way to do things. Krushor’s goal is to make music that sounds good and at the same time talk about the difficult things that are part of life. For many people, music can be therapeutic, and if even one person feels that way about our music, we feel we have succeeded.

King Records, in collaboration with Silver Lining Music, will release the Japanese edition of No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All on Wednesday, December 24th.

Included in this edition is a standout bonus track from British hard rock royalty GIRLSCHOOL: a defiant and electrifying take on Metallica’s “Hit The Lights,” featuring bona fide shred lord Joe Stump and Alcatrazz. The performance serves as one of the all-star compilation key highlights, offering Japanese fans a unique and essential addition to the CD release.

The digital single as well as an official video by Natalia Jonderko Śmiechowicz of N.Station Animation & Design Studio are out today.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All is a colossal celebration of the most propulsive debut album in heavy metal history, reimagined by the legends who inspired it and the generations that came in its wake!

Watch the official videos produced for the compilation and stream the album in full HERE.

The veteran likes of Saxon, Diamond Head, and Motörhead (three of Metallica’s favorite bands), are joined by rising stars such as Tailgunner and Swedish prog metallers Soen to create a who’s who of heavy music, with each performer lending their unique sound to one classic track. The Almighty deliver a particularly confrontational cover of “The Four Horsemen,” a release that saw the hard rockers return to the studio with their founding lineup for the first time since 1991.

Contributions from thrash giants Testament, ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, and New Wave Of British Heavy Metal linchpins Tygers Of Pan Tang show the label looking beyond their own artists to amass the greatest lineup possible. Joining the super star lineup are the legendary Raven (closing with the thundering anthemic “Metal Militia”) who were part of Metallica’s first-ever tour, 1983’s famous Kill ‘Em All For One venture.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All Japanese edition is available to preorder on CD at THIS LOCATION.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All is an ambitious achievement worthy of Metallica’s game-changing legacy. By the fans and for the fans, it reaffirms the Four Horsemen’s ironclad influence and its stacked roster continues the band’s mission to shove metal up your ass!

BLOOD OF ANGELS – Unleash New Single “Minds of the Broken” From Upcoming Album Les Agnst ov Thanatou

Posted in melodic death metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on November 26, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

BLOOD OF ANGELS returns with their powerful new single “Minds of the Broken,” offering a gripping preview of their upcoming concept album Les Agnst ov Thanatou. Known for their dynamic fusion of melodic death metal, blackened atmospheres, and thought provoking lyrical themes, the band continues to expand their creative vision while delivering the intensity that has earned them international acclaim.

Their forthcoming album was written during a period marked by uncertainty, isolation, and widespread loss, and its emotional gravity can be felt throughout every track. Les Agnst ov Thanatou explores the universal human struggle with mortality, the rituals surrounding death, and the emotional aftermath that binds the living to the departed.

Watch “Minds of the Broken” HERE: https://youtu.be/xRNBOAgYnpo

Each song examines a different aspect of how we experience grief and the ways death shapes the human psyche. From orchestral tension to dissonant melodic textures, the album blends brutality with introspection and dives into new musical terrain for the band.

“Minds of the Broken,” written by vocalist Randy Reyes, focuses on the internal devastation carried by soldiers returning from the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. Reyes drew inspiration from friends who survived the battlefield yet continue to struggle with the psychological toll of war. The song captures insomnia, survivor’s guilt, and the haunting memories of fallen comrades.

Crushing riffs collide with tense, atmospheric passages that mirror the instability of a mind fighting battles long after the war has ended. Percussion patterns evoke the sudden shock of flashbacks while layered melodies summon memories that refuse to fade. Reyes delivers a vocal performance shaped by despair, anger and the quiet torment of those living with invisible scars.

The album was tracked at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida with engineer Bob Noxious, whose punk background added a fresh edge to the recording process. Mixing was handled by Preston DiCarlo at Mastersound Studios and the final mastering touch was completed at Soundlab Studios in New York City, giving the record its polished and immersive sound.

“Minds of the Broken” stands as one of the most emotionally charged moments on Les Agnst ov Thanatou, a reminder that some battles never truly end. BLOOD OF ANGELS invites listeners to confront the darkest corners of the human experience and to emerge transformed. The full album is set for release in the summer of 2026.

Since their formation in 1993 in Austria, BELPHEGOR have stood as one of the most brutal and transgressive forces in black death metal. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Helmuth Lehner, the band has spent over three decades refining a sound forged in fire and sacrilege, merging the violent precision of death metal with the ritualistic darkness of black metal. Their musick is an invocation of infernal power, a soundwall of relentless blasphemy.

Gateway stands as an unrelenting and eldritch death metal opus that seals one chapter while unveiling the next. The album includes material from every songwriting period of the band, some of it dating back to the Deprived and Bringer of Drought eras, as well as Foreordained, of course,” explains guitarist Samuel Dufour.

Gateway was recorded, mixed, and mastered by long-time collaborator Xavier Berthiaume (Gevurah, Sanctvs) during the same session as Foreordained, giving the two records a consistent sonic throughline while allowing Gateway to close established narratives.

“We view it as the closing of a chapter for the band,” Dufour continues. “Not that our future material will be completely different from our existing material, far from it, but we have decided to do things a little differently next time around by adding new elements that haven’t appeared in our music before, exploring different dynamics and experimenting with a new tuning.”

Thematically, Gateway grows from ideas first explored on Foreordained: “The song ‘Revival’ from Foreordained inspired the album’s theme, which is the fact that humans have been trying to live forever – or to unnaturally prolong life – since the dawn of time, often for reasons even more absurd than the pursuit of eternal life itself,” elaborates Dufour.

“We used this as the main theme and pushed the concept further, exploring the most repulsive forms of cruelty humans are capable of, even when using science as a means to prolong barbarity against their enemies.”

Visually, the album continues PHOBOCOSM’s collaboration with Lauri Laaksonen (Desolate Shrine, Convocation, Pestilent Hex). “From looking at it, one can see that it is a gateway to something ominous, but what lies beyond is up to the listener.”

PHOBOCOSM:
J.S.G. – Drums
S.D. – Guitars
E.B. – Vocals (lead), Bass
R.M. – Guitars

PHOBOCOSM will support Gateway with select North American performances, followed by European dates in 2026.

LAMB OF GOD Release New Song and Music Video “Parasocial Christ”

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, metal music videos, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on November 23, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

“Parasocial Christ” digital single cover

RICHMOND, Va. – Lamb of God have released “Parasocial Christ” (https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/ParasocialChrist), a relentless three-minute assault that once again pairs the Richmond metal titans with longtime producer Josh Wilbur. The standalone single follows “Sepsis,” which has dominated the U.S. metal charts for the past two weeks.

The song arrives alongside a stark, desaturated video directed by Jon Vulpine, whose unsettling visual style mirrors the track’s intensity as it captures a man’s descent into madness.

“The Information Age has birthed the attention economy, an industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars anchored in keeping eyeballs firmly glued to screens, thus generating ad revenue. Every second spent clicking and scrolling through the trivial and/or sordid details of other people’s lives, people that you will most likely never meet- celebrities, politicians, influencers- is another dollar in some already obscenely wealthy tech bro’s wallet,” Randy Blythe shares about the themes behind the track.

“You are a product, and you are being sold in a marketplace you have no share in. The irony of you reading this some social media platform or music news aggregator site is not lost on me; nevertheless I hope this song might make you consider who and what you give your attention to. Fuck the clickbait, put down the phone, go live your life- it’s waiting for you out in what’s left of the real world.”

The arrival of “Parasocial Christ” coincides with the on-sale for Lamb of God’s Spring 2026 North American tour, featuring support from Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Tickets and VIP packages are available now via Lamb-of-god.com/tour.

“We are beyond thrilled to announce the loudest, proudest, floor shakin’-est, earth quakin’-est, ear-splittin’-est, mosh pittin’-est, undiluted, undisputed HEAVIEST tour of the whole damn year,” Mark Morton said earlier this week as the band announced the trek. “Is this the largest collection of RIFFS ever assembled under one roof? It would seem so. Lamb of God, Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Do not miss this shit.”

New additions also include Immortal Suffering, Unbirth, Butcher ABC, Fecundation, Guttural Slug, Darkall Slaves, Kakothansy, Crepitation, Strangle Wire, Lymphoaedema, Ovulating Cadaver, Repulsed and Dissolving Entity

Offal Fest is taking place on 24-26 July 2026 at The Bread Shed, Manchester. Purchase tickets: Offal-Fest.com

Manchester, UK; 21 November 2025: Offal Fest, dedicated to the most extreme sounds in gore, grind, slam and brutal death metal, has secured two monumental UK-exclusive headlining performances and unveiled its (nearly) full 2026 line-up.

Brutal slamming death metal pioneers Devourment are confirmed to headline the Saturday night, bringing a UK-exclusive set to the Manchester stage. Joining them as the Sunday headliners, making their first-ever UK appearance for a special exclusive performance, are Ohio brutal death metal powerhouse, Regurgitation.

The all-star international roster is significantly bolstered by the addition of New York brutal death metal legends Immortal Suffering, who will be returning to the UK next year for an exclusive performance. Anyone who caught their incredible performance earlier this year already knows the sheer ferocity they bring to the stage.

Offal Fest continues its tradition of championing outstanding international extreme talent, welcoming a substantial wave of European and Asian heavy-hitters. This includes insane Italian talent with Unbirth and InverecundButcher ABC from Japan and Fecundation from Korea. Guttural Slug from Denmark will return after their crushing live debut at the first iteration of Offal Fest, and the international bill is rounded out by Darkall Slaves hailing from France and Kakothanasy from Switzerland, both performing a UK exclusive set.

The line-up is also packed with outstanding UK and Irish talent, including the “wobble-box superstars” Crepitation, who will be headlining the pre-show, alongside Irish acts StrangleWire and one-man gorenoise chaos Lymphoeadema. Completing the UK contingent are Ovulating CadaverRepulsed and Dissolving Entity, all adding to the ferocious three-day experience.

They join the previously announced mix of established and rising acts in the extreme metal scene. Scottish brutal death metal band Laceration, London-based brutal death metal band Twitch Of The Death Nerve, Czech brutal death metal band Epicardiectomy, Greek three-piece brutal death metallers Embryectomy, Glaswegian five-piece death metal band Scordatura, veteran US brutal death metal band Lividity, the long-awaited reunion of UK brutal death metal band Infected Disarray, Manchester newcomers Disgracing, who made their live debut at this year’s Offal and Manchester four-piece Brutal Death Metal band Coprocephalic Mutation will be returning to the fest in 2026.

Fans should note that while the full line-up is confirmed, there is one TBC spot at the bottom of the poster, with more information to be announced very soon on social channels; day splits will also be announced at a later date.

Rancid Offal Promotions, the team behind Goremageddon and Offal Fest, said:We are excited to finally drop the full line-up for Offal! We knew we had to go absolutely huge this year, building on this year’s massive success. So, locking down Devourment for a UK exclusive and getting Regurgitation over for their first-ever UK gig is just insane. We’ve managed to pull in extreme talent from all over the world – Japan, Korea, Europe – alongside the best of the UK, Irish and local scenes. Get ready for three days of utter brutality next year in the new home of extreme metal; Manchester!

Offal Fest 2025 was a sold-out success. The event featured the likes of Foetal Juice, 357 Homicide, a UK exclusive performance by Skinless, who performed their album “Progression Towards Evil” in full, a UK exclusive set from Begging For Incest, exclusive co-headlining sets by Defeated Sanity and Wormed, as well as exclusive performances from Imperious Mortality, Plasma, Cerebral Effusion and 55Gore.

SAINTED SINNERS Releases New Studio Album, High On Fire, via ROAR | New Music Video “Lost In A Storm” Premiering Now

Posted in classic rock, classic rock bands, Hard Rock, hard rock bands, hard rock music, Heavy Metal, Music, music news, news with tags , , , on November 22, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Hard Rock super-group SAINTED SINNERS have hit the scene with High On Fire, their brand new album now available through ROAR – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music! To celebrate the release in style, the band drops a music video for “Lost In A Storm; a slow-burning rocker with a blues edge, heavy shadows, and the kind of moody power that recalls the early era of Black Sabbath in a modern shape.

The video clip for “Lost In A Storm” is now premiering HERE

Order High On Fire now at: https://saintedsinners.rpm.link/hofPR

Guitarist Frank Pané comments“We are happy to finally share our 5th album High On fire with the Rock fans around the world. It‘s a testimony of our passion for the music that we love most and is in our blood. Sainted Sinners is a very heartfelt musical outlet for everybody in the band and we hope listeners can feel that fire, which after decades in the Rock‘n Roll buisness still burns high! We are high on fire!”

He adds“The lastest single “Lost In A Storm” shows our more darker & heavy side. Definitely inspired by one of our favourite bands Black Sabbath, but still keeping trademark Sainted Sinners elements like an intense use of the Hammond to add a different flavour and unexpectedly ending, which could turn into a improvised jam at our live shows. Curious? Have a listen and don‘t get lost in the storm.”

Rooted within the sound of the legendary acts of this genre, like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, UFO and others, yet also with influences from different styles, with their new offering High On FireSAINTED SINNERS once again prove that classic hard rock can feel timeless, energetic and inspiring for generations to come.

The new record features the stellar line-up of Jack Meile (Tygers Of Pan Tang) on vocals, Frank Pané (Bonfire) on guitar, Ernesto Ghezzi (Gotthard) on keyboards, Samy Saemann (ex-Freedom Call) on bass, and Berci Hirleman on drums. Together they deliver a vibrant journey through 70s- and 80s-inspired heavy rock, full of soul-soaked vocals, groovy Hammond duels, intricate riffs, and a driving rhythm section.

High On Fire delivers a feeling of good time Rock’n’Roll vibes. Let‘s forget and escape from all the bad things in life and enjoy life to the fullest with freedom of expression and an overall positive attitude:

“There are too many negative things happening all over the world right now, and you can’t ignore that. However, you always have to stay positive and firmly believe that calmer and better times will come again, and we hope to help our fans stay similarly positive with our music and continue to believe that everything will be okay”, says Pané.

You can also feel that power within the album artwork, created by Frank and Miram Kollbrunner. “For me, it reflects the power we try to convey to the listener with our music. Whether you’re a “saint” or a “sinner,” there’s a little bit of both in everyone. Life is also light and shadow. If you accept that for yourself, it gives you the freedom to enjoy life.”

West Coast heavy metal veterans Metal Church return with a revitalized lineup and a hard-hitting new single that underscores the sound that has driven their four-decade legacy. The new formation features founding member and guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof, alongside longtime guitarist Rick Van Zandt, joined by bass icon David Ellefson, powerhouse drummer Ken Mary, and dynamic new vocalist Brian Allen.

Following the band’s recent tour and return from Australia, Metal Church found themselves at a crossroads. An unexpected spark reignited Kurdt’s creative drive, prompting him to reach out to the musicians who would ultimately shape the group’s next chapter. Their chemistry in the studio gave rise to the blistering new track “F.A.F.O.” – a song that immediately energized the band and inspired them to continue writing and recording. The new single was produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and mixed/mastered by Zeuss at Planet Z.

Those sessions have now evolved into a brand-new Metal Church album, set for release in 2026 via Rat Pak Records. Additional details will be announced soon.

“After 45 years, the fact that we have new music coming in 2025 feels like a miracle. There was a time when I honestly didn’t think Metal Church would continue, but we’re back and this lineup is firing on all cylinders. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a new single on the way; that alone makes this moment incredibly special. ‘F.A.F.O.’ is an aggressive thrasher, and I think the fans are really going to dig it, we certainly do. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be Metal Church,” explains Kurdt Vanderhoof.

Metal Church plan to tour extensively in 2026 and some festival dates have already been announced with more to come. All information on touring plans and links to tickets can be found at: https://www.metalchurchofficial.com

Wed, Aug 5, 2026 – Josefov, Czech – Brutal Assault Festival
Sat, Aug 8, 2026 – Kortrijik, Belgium – Alcatraz Festival
Sun, Aug 9, 2026 – Geiselwind, Germany – Keep It True Festival

With renewed energy, a legacy spanning over four decades, and a rapidly expanding worldwide fan base, Metal Church remains a driving force in modern heavy metal. Still pushing forward, still evolving and still unmistakably Metal Church.

PROFANE ELEGY Announces New Single “And Then We Are Gone” From Forthcoming Album Herezjarcha

Posted in Black Metal, doom metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on November 21, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Independent black metal band PROFANE ELEGY has released their newest single, “And Then We Are Gone,” a haunting and doom-oriented meditation on the fleeting nature of human existence. The track represents a notable shift for the band, featuring predominantly clean singing and a somber, crushing atmosphere.

Watch “And Then We Are Gone” HERE: https://youtu.be/lTZavztyIJw

“This song was a fun switch up for us in that it is mostly clean singing and very doom oriented,” the band explains. “It’s essentially a comment on how we’re here one minute and gone the next and the world keeps turning. All we do and build in life snuffed out in a second without warning or meaning, the tragedy of existence.”

“And Then We Are Gone” is the latest preview of the upcoming album Herezjarcha, set for release on January 30, 2026. Like their previous work, the album was created through a fully remote writing and recording process that has become central to the band’s identity.

Herezjarcha Track Listing:

  1. “Exeunt Omnes” – 4:57
  2. “Haunted” – 3:31
  3. “The Accuser” – 5:23
  4. “As My Heart Turns to Ash” – 5:24
  5. “I AM” – 3:49
  6. “Immutable” – 4:13
  7. “And Then We Are Gone” – 4:02
  8. “Herezjarcha” – 5:57

PROFANE ELEGY began as a two-man recording project before expanding into a full four-piece and debuting live in late 2023. With members located across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the band relies on extensive file sharing and constant group communication to craft their music. This approach played a crucial role in bringing Herezjarcha to life.

With “And Then We Are Gone,” PROFANE ELEGY continues to refine their blend of bleak atmospheres, introspective themes, and evolving sonic textures, solidifying their place as a rising force in American black metal.

About PROFANE ELEGY

PROFANE ELEGY is a black metal band from Bangor, Pennsylvania, formed in late 2021 by guitarist J Gulick and vocalist Mikael L. Originally conceived as a two-man studio project, the band quickly evolved into a full lineup with the addition of bassist David G and drummer Sean M in 2023. What sets PROFANE ELEGY apart is their refusal to remain confined within genre boundaries, while rooted firmly in black metal, their sound incorporates elements of death, doom, and progressive metal, often enhanced by orchestral arrangements and clean vocals.

The band’s debut album When All Is Nothing (2023) was released independently and drew attention for its blend of atmospheric aggression and emotional vulnerability. The release earned praise for its ability to move fluidly between blistering speed and melancholic melody, with Doom Heart calling it “a massive Doom delight.” Following the album’s release, PROFANE ELEGY made their live debut and began performing across the northeastern United States, including a notable support slot for Dark Funeral in late 2024.

Lyrically, the band explores themes of nihilism, mortality, philosophy, and religious symbolism, often invoking figures like Satan not as dogmatic statements, but as metaphors in a broader spiritual and existential dialogue. Their work is poetic, introspective, and often challenges the listener to confront uncomfortable truths about life, death, and belief.

Their upcoming full-length album Herezjarcha, set for release in January 2026, represents the band’s most ambitious and expansive work to date. With a more dynamic sound, deeper orchestration, and a clear conceptual throughline, the record pushes their sonic and thematic boundaries further than ever before.

The album title, the Polish translation of the English word heresiarch (meaning arch-heretic), encapsulates the spirit of the band: rebellious, introspective, and unafraid to question the sacred.
