On July 7th, 1980 – The remarkable Led Zeppelin perform their last concert with drummer John Bonham. This Rock historic moment occurred in (West) Berlin, Germany at Eissporthalle. Rest in peace, John Bonham.

On July 7th, 1986 – The legendary David Lee Roth released his debut full-length solo album: Eat ‘Em And Smile. Yes, this album features the cool song: Yankee Rose. This album features an all-star cast of musicians: guitarist Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Gregg Bissonette. I absolutely recommend this album to every human being that digs music.

On July 7th, 2012 – The invincible IRON MAIDEN performed at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois, USA. If you do not listen to IRON MAIDEN then you are obviously a cranky and constipated tree troll.

On July 7th, 2015 – The brand new studio album from Detroit’s WILSON, Right To Rise, is ranked at #35, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. That’s Full Blast Fuckery.

On July 5th, 1969 – The Who and Chuck Berry co-headlined the Pop Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Holy smokes, that’s cool! Shown above is the souvenir program from the 1969 Pop Proms. This Rock historic event took place from June 29th to July 5th, 1969. This souvenir program contains 36 pages. If you have one, you are very lucky and super freaking cool!

On July 5th, 1980 – Alice Cooper had his song, Clones (We’re All), ranked at #40, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Um, with all due respect, that is a very weird photo of Alice Cooper, on that above 45rpm cover sleeve. Good gravy!

On July 5th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Blessed And Possessed (deluxe version) from Heavy Metal warrior’s POWERWOLF is ranked at #79, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album will be released in the U.S., on July 17th, 2015. Whoa!

The late and legendary concert promoter Bill Graham convinced the Soviet government to have this concert held. The Soviet leader at this time was the much more liberal Mikhail Gorbachev. Holy moly!

On July 4th, 2015 – Independence Day is ranked at #11 on the Top 50 iTunes Movies Chart. The stars are: Will Smith, Bill Pullman as the POTUS, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch and Randy Quaid, among others. This movie kicks ultimate Metal ass!! ‘Nuff said.

On June 30th, 1977 – KISS released their sixth studio album, via Casablanca Records: Love Gun. Yes, this is the KISS album that features the song, sung by Gene Simmons: Plaster Caster. You are a collector of sun-dried earthworms, if you don’t own this KISS album.

On June 30th, 1977 – Marvel Comics published the first KISS comic book. Blood aka plasma was drawn from each KISS member and added into the red ink for printing the comic. I’d have to say, without any question, that this moment in KISStory is… Metal.

On June 30th, 1990 – L.A. Guns hits #33 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with The Ballad of Jayne. Holy smokes! This song is featured on the second studio album from L.A. Guns, released back in 1989: Cocked & Loaded.

On June 30th, 2000 – Poison, Cinderella, Dokken and Slaughter all performed on the same night in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the Blossom Music Center. Now, that’s a Rockin’ lineup! Whoa and whoa again!

On June 30th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Immortalized (Deluxe Version), from the mighty DISTURBED is ranked at #5, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Rock Albums Chart. Immortalized will be DISTURBED’s sixth studio album, releasing on August 21st, 2015.

On June 30th, 1949, Andy Scott was born in Wrexham, North Wales. Happy Birthday, Andy Scott! Yeah, man! Andy Scott is world-known as a guitarist, vocalist, co-songwriter and lifelong (classic) member for (The) SWEET. Make no mistake, Andy Scott and SWEET are true pioneers of Glam Metal and Hard Rock. SWEET have sold tens of thousands of records over the decades, along with a host of #1 singles to their credit.

On June 29th, 2015 – Italy’s Cinematic Metal band, Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody, releases a new studio album: Prometheus – Symphonia Ignis Divinus. Ian Paice was born on June 29th, 1948, in England. Happy Birthday, Ian Paice! Yeah, man! Ian Paice is known across all galaxies as being the life-long drummer for the super legendary Deep Purple. Ian Paice is also a former drummer for the fabulous Whitesnake. Metal Be Thy Name!

On This Day In METAL History – June 27th… From MÖTLEY CRÜE To METALACHI

On June 27th, 1987 – The fabulous Mötley Crüe peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart with Girls, Girls, Girls which went on to sell four million (plus) copies in the United States. Outstanding!

On June 27th, 1994 – The super-duper Aerosmith became the huge name band to release a song on the internet as a free download. Head First was the song that was available on CompuServe for one week; unfortunately fans had to endure an hour’s worth (or much more) of download time to hear the song. Those were the days. Head First was an unused song from Aerosmith’s Get A Grip sessions.

On June 27th, 2006 – The KISS Coffeehouse opened for business, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For this happy grand opening, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley made their appearance. Unfortunately, the KISS Coffeehouse closed in late September of 2013, due to a lack of growth in sales. A clearance sale of all KISS novelty items took place during the closing days of this establishment as well. Goodness gracious.

On June 27th, 2015 – Former Megadeth members, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, have recently formed their own Thrash/Speed Metal band: Act Of Defiance. Their forthcoming debut studio album, Birth And The Burial, is ranked at #86, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Jiminy Cricket! This album is scheduled to release on August 21st, 2015.

On June 27th, 2015 – METALACHI, The world’s first and only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band, have their new studio album UNO ranked at #66, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. ¡Ay, caramba!

This terrific album went on to reach #1 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, while eventually selling five million copies (plus) in the United States. Man, oh man and hot damn!

On June 26th, 1976 – The amazing Aerosmith peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart with their fourth studio album: Rocks. This was Aerosmith’s first album to reach the top ten on the U.S. album chart. Rocks features the ass-kicking songs: Back In The Saddle and Last Child, among others. If you don’t own this album, then it is obvious you collect rabbit poop in mason jars.

On June 26th, 2015 – The legendary High On Fire have their newly released studio album, Luminiferous, debuting at #110, on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Hell, yes!!

On June 24th, 2000 – The iconic KISS began a two-day auction of various stage props, instruments and costumes worn and used throughout their storied Rock ‘N Roll domination. Over $880,000 in KISStoric items were sold on this day, back in 2000.

KISS The Auction was held at the Paramount Theatre at Paramount Studios in Hollywood California, along with internet and phone bids. KISS The Auction was presented by Greg Manning Auctions and Butterfields. Whoa and whoa again!!

On June 24th, 2014 – The unbelievable IRON MAIDEN performed at INEA Stadion in Poznań, Poland. Holy moly! Long live IRON MAIDEN!

On June 24th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Abysmal, from Detroit’s The Black Dahlia Murder, is ranked at #1, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album will be out worldwide on September 18th, 2015. Jiminy Cricket and Hell Yeah!

On This Day In METAL History – June 23rd… From BATMAN To VIRGIN STEELE

On June 23rd, 1989 – Batman was released to wide-screen theaters. The first film of this iconic franchise of sequels, Michael Keaton plays Batman and the great Jack Nicholson plays the twisted villain: The Joker. The lovely Kim Basinger and New Jersey born Robert Wuhl also star in this film. No matter what angle I scrutinize from… Batman… is Metal. The Joker is Metal too. Metal Be Thy Name!

On June 23rd, 1990 – Slaughter has their hit Hard Rock anthem, Up All Night, sitting at #27, on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Whoa! This song is featured on Slaughter’s fantastic debut album from 1990: Stick It To Ya. Hell and yeah!

On June 23rd, 2012 – The remarkable IRON MAIDEN performed at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood is in the company of 75 wooded acres too. Hot damn!

On June 23rd, 2015 – Switzerland’s Melodic Metal band CRYSTAL BALL releases their new studio album, Liferider, in the USA via Massacre Records. Long live CRYSTAL BALL!

On June 23rd, 2015 – The legendary VIRGIN STEELE release their new studio album, Nocturnes Of Hellfire & Damnation, in the USA. Long live VIRGIN STEELE! Pictured above is the CD jewel case cover version of this album.

On June 23rd, 2015 – Christian Hardcore/Metal band For Today have their fifth studio album, Fight The Silence, ranked at #100, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Holy guacamole!

THE WHO “Live At Shea Stadium 1982” – Blu-ray Releases On June 30th, 2015

The Who’s 1982 tour, which was all in North America, apart from two warm-up dates at the Birmingham NEC in England, was their last to feature Kenney Jones on drums and they wouldn’t tour again until 1989. The tour promoted their recent “It’s Hard” album, which had been released in June of 1982 and the set list included a number of tracks from that album, some of which the band would only play live on this tour.

This concert film features the show from the second of their two nights at New York’s Shea Stadium and was filmed on October 13th of 1982. Although a couple of tracks have appeared on compilations, this is the first official release of the full show and features restored footage and newly mixed sound.

The release date is June 30th, 2015.

On This Day In METAL History – June 21st… From ALICE COOPER To TWISTED SISTER

On June 21st, 1975 – Alice Cooper had his ballad Only Women sitting at #12, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. This song is featured on Alice Cooper’s first solo studio album, from 1975: Welcome To My Nightmare. Sweet molasses!

On June 21st, 1985 – The sensational Mötley Crüe released their third studio album: Theatre of Pain. This album went on to reach #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, eventually selling four million (plus) copies in the United States. Heavens to Betsy! Yes, this album features the forever famous power ballad: Home Sweet Home.

On June 21st, 2013 – The legendary Twisted Sister performed at Hellfest, at Val de Moine in Clisson, France. Rest in peace, A.J. Pero.

On June 21st, 2014 – The mighty Avenged Sevenfold performed at Hellfest, at Val de Moine in Clisson, France. Great googly-moogly!

On June 21st, 2015 – Deathalbum III from Dethklok is ranked at #100, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This studio album was released back in 2012. Whoa!
