Italy’s gothic doom stalwarts THE FORESHADOWING have just released a live video for “Our Nightmares Call”, a song from the band’s latest album New Wave Order.

The video was shot by Underroom Studios at the 2025 edition of Frantic Fest in Francavilla al Mare, Italy.

The mood is dark to melancholic, but also majestic and epic. Hailing from Rome (Italy), THE FORESHADOWING are something like the musical equivalent of the city they come from. Founded in 2005, the group can look back on a successful and eventful history. Listeners of gothic, doom and dark metal are very familiar with the quartet’s work. 

THE FORESHADOWING gained popularity in the international scene with four acclaimed albums released between 2007 and 2016: Days of Nothing (2007), Oionos (2010), Second World (2012) and Seven Heads, Ten Horns (2016) and through touring with SWALLOW THE SUN, SATURNUS, MARDUK, MOONSPELL, ANTIMATTER and IN THE WOODS.

In 2023, THE FORESHADOWING ended a forced break of several years with the EP Forsaken Songs and a European tour with Saturnus and In The Woods. Now, New Wave Order is the group’s fifth full length album and their debut on LIFEFORCE RECORDS. The formation from Rome emphasizes its strengths on the album and offers cinematic tracks of dark music that is nevertheless immensely catchy and mood-enhancing.

BLOOD VULTURE, a vampiric goth rock band created by Jordan Olds (2 Minutes To Late Night), has revealed a surreal new video for his single “Burn For It” (Feat. Brian Fair), starring SLEIGH BELLS’ vocalist Alexis Krauss.

Directed by Olds, the video pays tribute to 1981’s cult favorite psychological horror film Possession, and painstakingly recreates demonic scenes from the movie.

Commenting on the video, Olds states: 

“The video is a homage to one of my favorite movies, Possession (1981). Almost every shot in the video is a recreation of a scene from the movie paced to the music. For decades, it was so difficult to actually watch the movie. It was banned in the US when it originally came out and then it wasn’t allowed on streaming for a long time. Now thanks to Kino Lorber and Metrograph, there’s tons of screenings and streaming services (including the free ones from the library) showing the full version.”

“I consider it to be one of the great masterpieces in alternative cinema with two of the best on screen performances of all time and my favorite camera work ever. This whole idea was basically a Trojan horse to get people excited about that movie again. I also couldn’t be more grateful to my friend Alexis Krauss for trusting me with this idea and giving so much time and energy to this. It takes a special kind of artist and a special kind of talent to find a way to be fully compelling for 5 entire minutes by themselves and Alexis is that kind of special.”

The new video for “Burn For It” is the latest from the insidious mind of Olds, and featured on his project BLOOD VULTURE’s debut album, Die Close, which is out now via Pure Noise Records. The hypnotic short follows previously released videos for “Die Close,” “Grey Mourning” (feat. Jade Puget of AFI) and “A Dream About Starving To Death.”

The track was originally something I orchestrated that didn’t make a cut a few years back. But I love how on Patreon I can just throw up my lost demos and the community there decides what path I go down next.

I definitely have not been on the heavy train much the past few years, but it was time to change that. The minute I came across this demo I knew it had to be another duet with the one and only Sarah Jezebel Deva and along the way the lovely and talented Mustis lended his piano talents (I’m still over the moon about that). I also couldn’t have done it without the super talented team that came on board.”

Influenced by the likes of GARBAGE, JOY DIVISION, EVANESCENCE, and KEANE, and thematically inspired by gothic and folk imagery, along with mythology, THE EFFIGY‘s music is a cinematic array of eclectic styles. With twelve albums under their belts and several number one chart positions in Finland, THE 69 EYES are back with a catchy new single — the first of several new tracks to be released in the coming months. Remaining true to their credo “Goth ‘n’ roll will never die!,” the band is currently in the studio recording their lucky thirteenth offering to be released in 2023. But fans need not wait any longer to hear new sounds from the crypt…

Comments guitarist Bazie of “Drive,” “The inspiration came from the same pool of music I have always liked, mostly from the ‘80s. I never plan anything; I just grab my guitar and see what comes up. We jammed a lot more as a band this time and came up with song ideas from all the guys. ‘Drive’ started from one little riff, which I had for a long time. It took a while, but it was worth it. It still sounds exiting and that was the goal.”

Adds singer Jyrki 69, “Bazie delivered this music and I was blown away by how fresh it felt again. It sounded like some rock radio stuff! Our songs are on daily rotation on the rock channels here in Finland, but they are the ones that we did fifteen years ago.
