HERETOIR Ushers In The “Season of Grief” | New Album Solastalgia, Out Sep 19th Via AOP Records

Revered German blackgaze band HERETOIR has revealed the 2nd single, “Season of Grief,” from their awaited, fourth album, Solastalgia, that’s out September 19th via AOP Records.

The 10 minute epic soundscape blends lush atmospheric guitars with intense driving riffs and blackened rhythm; a signature sound the band has long been praised for. The song is paired with an equally profound video created by Martin Vrigsjö Staflin with live footage from Kevin Storm and Alexander Bahr. 

Commenting on the new song, the band states: 

“When we think about how modern humanity treats the natural world and also how humanity treats each other, the general feeling is one of sadness and anger – and grief. Grief for every living being suffering from our ways. 

In the name of technological progress humanity is consuming even the last remaining intact ecosystems. Many people, especially in the global North, believe that established economic systems, capitalism, and globalized industrial civilization represent humanity’s greatest achievement.

We actually find little to admire in this – huge numbers of people live in inhumane conditions, animals are degraded to commodities, primeval forests are clearcut for wood production and to make room for agriculture… the list is endless.

We hope that this track resonates with many of you, especially in this challenging time, where everything feels more unstable than ever. Thank you for your never ending support and love – we don’t take it for granted.“

Critically praised German blackgaze band HERETOIR has announced their forthcoming, fourth album, Solastalgia, will be released September 19th via AOP Records. The band’s emotionally stirring new record follows 2023’s lauded release, Nightsphere, and marks their most vulnerable and accessible album yet. Solastalgia was recorded and mixed by David Deutsch and Justin Felder at 1408 Productions. Mastered by Lasse Lammert at LSD Studio. Artwork by Rudolf Hima.

Today, HERETOIR reveals Solastalgia’s opening track and first single, “The Ashen Falls.” Watch the video linked below.

TASSI – Chinese Blackgaze Entity To Release New Album “Idamon Novasah-Liva”

TASSI will release their new album Idamon Novasah-Liva on May 31st 2025 via Dusktone. With this highly anticipated chapter, the project continues its introspective and spiritual journey through a soundscape that blends post-black metal soundscapes and deep emotional storytelling.

The first single “怪想录 IV” is now available HERE.

TASSI is a project born from the mind of Chinese artist Dryad, also known for his work under BLISS-ILLUSION. Through this creation, Dryad gives life to TASSI, a bard wandering between heaven and man, whose esoteric and mystical journey revolves around the search for his lost love, Uni, the embodiment of his unwavering faith.

TASSI travels through time and surreal dimensions — romantic, divine, broken, or mad. Uni has transcended the sky and humanity itself, becoming a symbol of absolute love and spiritual devotion. This metaphysical odyssey unfolds as an intimate, nearly initiatory quest, where music becomes the language of the soul.

The upcoming album Idamon Novasah-Liva stands as a parallel branch or sister series to the Northland saga, forming what Dryad calls “The Chronicle of Strange Thoughts.” This new chapter delves into a more introspective and melancholic emotional layer of TASSI; a kind of inner double or alternate self.

Musically, Idamon Novasah-Liva embraces a depressive / blackgaze / post-black metal aesthetic, rich in sorrowful textures, meditative riffs, and deeply personal lyrics. The voice moves between prayer and lament, echoing through ethereal soundscapes and cathartic darkness.

All Western artworks for the project, including this release, are the work of Alcide Nathanaël, a visual artist from the esoteric and spiritual world, far removed from traditional metal imagery. His contribution brings an otherworldly and symbolic dimension to TASSI’s universe, perfectly aligned with its mystical essence.
